Chapter Twelve
I was dreading walking into work today. I haven't been in the office since Thanksgiving, which means I have not seen my mom since Thanksgiving- and she just so happens to co-own the company.
I pulled into my parking spot on this bright Wednesday morning and killed my engine. The sun was already out and shining and it was the perfect temperature outside. But this bright day will dim as soon as I walk in the building.
Finally at 7:59 am, I grabbed my stuff and headed inside. I let out a breath of relief when I saw that nobody was down in the reception area and my desk was clean. I knew I wouldn't be down here long by myself though.
As I sat down and turned on my computer, I closed my eyes for a brief moment. All I need to do is get through these 8 hours of work, then I have my spicy Zumba dance class, then I am going to the Louisville game tonight at 9pm.
I opened my eyes as I heard footsteps approaching. My body slightly stiffened but then relaxed. And then, my mom walked in.
"Good morning" she spoke like nothing had happened a few days ago.
"Good morning" I said back, a little confused.
"Are you still going to that game tonight? It's a late one" she asked. Now I was really confused.
"Yeah I am. Paisley isn't going to this one though because of the time" I told her. She nodded.
"Are you still talking to that boy?" she questioned.
"I am" I nodded, keeping it simple.
"Just be careful" she sighed then walked off. My eyes narrowed, extremely confused now. I guess we just weren't going to talk about it- which is the way we "solve" any issue.

I walked into the gym at 6:00 pm for my 6:30 class. Gabby and our instructor, Jesse, were already inside and waiting to get into the room. As I walked up, Gabby was smirking.
"Excited to see your man tonight?" she winked, making me laugh and Jesse join in the conversation.
"You should bring him to class" she spoke.
"Oh god no" I laughed out loud, "He already sees the class videos reposted on Instagram, don't need him seeing this in person"
"So when is he gonna ask you to be his girlfriend?" Gabby questioned.
"I don't know," I laughed, "Maybe after another date or two. We've technically only gone out on one date then he came to mine for a at home date"
"Jesse, he stayed the night" Gabby told her, totally ratting me out.
"Yeah get it girl" Jesse cheered as our other instructor, Cara, walked in.
"What's she getting?" she asked,
"Her 6 '10 basketball player soon-to-be boyfriend" Jesse smiled, making me let out a groan.
Soon, the room cleared out and we headed inside, getting everything set up as people joined in. Then as soon as the music started, I forgot about everything except for shaking my ass with all my class friends.
As soon as class ended, I was out the door and heading home. Thankfully John was going to drive tonight so I had time to come home first to shower.
I rushed into my apartment and straight to my bathroom. I had time to wash my body but not my hair. Once I had rinsed off, I got out and dried off then put a ton of dry shampoo in. I did some light makeup then it was time to get dressed. I grabbed a pair of Lululemon leggings then had to decide on a shirt. As much as I wanted to wear the jersey, I can't because I would freeze.
