I finally decided on a basic Louisville longsleeve and put on my red converse. I checked my phone and saw I had a minute or two, so I took a cute picture and put it on my Instagram story.
Just then, John texted me and told me he was outside. I grabbed my belt bag then headed out the door and hopped into John's passenger seat.
"Any more sleepovers?" John teased as soon as I sat down,.
"Please don't" I groaned, "We just simply fell asleep. No big deal"
John just laughed but dropped it.
By the time we got to the arena, it was already packed inside, but it was freezing. We got inside and headed down to our seats. As we sat down, I looked towards the court, seeing Kaden looking over. He waved, making me wave back with a smile. He went back to shooting around with his team, one of them teasing him too.
Not long later, the game was underway. Louisville was looking rusty but slowly they started getting their rhythm. They started making big plays and taking a ton of shots. At one point, Kaden had a huge block, launching it up the court to Charlie Hadley who played it in.
At halftime, John got up to go get drinks, but I stayed in my seat. I picked up my phone and saw a text, one I had missed from before the game from Kaden.
Kaden: No jersey tonight? Damn lol
Me: I wanted to! But if I wore that I would be more cold than I already am haha
I put my phone down just as John got back, handing me a water. We chatted about random stuff for a while until we saw the teams coming back out. Everyone was going to their bench, except for one- Kaden. He was jogging right to me with a red hoodie in his hand.
"Here" he called out with a wink and tossed the hoodie at me. Before I could even speak back, he was already going back to the bench.
"Oh! You got a hoodie now" John teased, nudging me. I was a smiling mess and I know I was probably as red as the sweatshirt in my hands. I put the hoodie on and took in the smell. It smelled like him.
"Girl he is marking his territory" John laughed, pushing me to lean up so he could see the back.
"He's not a dog John" I rolled my eyes, "What's on the back?"
"Parker and a 11" John smirked. I laughed and looked down at the front that had 'Louisville Basketball' sewn in.
I turned back to watch the game. Kaden kept looking over, especially when he was down by us. At one point, when he was on the bench, his teammates were pointing over at me then messing with him. He just shrugged it off, not phased at all.
As the game ended, and Louisville came out on top, everyone in the crowd stood. As I did, the bottom of the hoodie fell, hovering not far above my knees. I mean, that's expected when the man that wears it is 6'10.
While people filed out of the arena, John and I stayed at our seats. I wanted to see Kaden, plus we needed to let traffic pass.
Once it looked like interviews and stuff were done, Kaden b-lined it towards us.
"Nice game man" John spoke as he reached us, shaking his hand.
"Thanks man" Kaden nodded then hugged me, before whispering, "I think I like you in that"
My eyes widened and my face got hot, making John laugh. We pulled out of the hug and Kaden looked around.
"Where's Paisley?" he asked.
"Bro it was a 9pm game on a school night. She's in bed" John shook his head. Kaden shrugged, then looked down at me.
"I know you're here every game, but thanks for coming," he said.
"Of course," I nodded.
"I'll text you here in a bit" he told me, then hugged me again before heading off.
Once he was out of sight, John and I headed out. The drive to my apartment was silent. I was tired but also giddy in the hoodie I was wearing.
Getting home, I entered my apartment and locked the door, tossing my bag and keys on the counter. I headed to my room, throwing on a pair of shorts. I took off the shirt and bra I had on under the hoodie, but slid the hoodie right back on and climbed into bed.
As I did, my phone buzzed. I knew exactly who it was.
Kaden: I know it's late and you are probs already half asleep... but what would you say about dinner Friday night?
My heart fluttered, but then I remembered Ally is singing that night at the bar again.
Me: I'd love too, but my friend sings that night at 8pm at the bar
I sent the text then I had an idea, and began typing again.
Me: What if we did dinner, then if you want, you can go with me?
Kaden: That works for me! Just wanna see ya again :)
Me: Then it's set then :)
Kaden: Awesome. I can't wait! Now get some sleep. Goodnight
Me: Goodnight!
I put my phone down and cheered. Yeah, I'm so done for.
