And maybe, your intuition is correct.. maybe there is something your mind guides you towards.. would you rather doubt it, or find out?

After several years, Hayes and her brother, Daniel, would finally move back to the city they grew up in, their mother had sent them to live with their father due to her business trips, but she had finally decided to retire from that job to make more time for her children. Hayes and Daniel would both be going to Phoenix drop highschool this year, he was definitely more excited than Hayes was, she wasn't sure why.

"Hey Hayes! Over here!" Daniel called out, he was beside his locked with a few other werewolves their age. Hayes walked over, Daniel wasn't one to make friends easily, so she figured they were old friends.
"What's up, Daniel...?" she said, keeping her voice low, only Daniel could hear her.
"Do you remember Dottie and Rylan?" Daniel asked, his tail wagging excitedly.
Hayes looked over Daniel's shoulder in surprise, she did recognize them from when they were little, their parents were all close friends, so they were close as children.
"Hayes!" Dottie threw herself at Hayes, she hadn't changed much, just as hyper as she had always been.
"Dottie chill out! Get off me." She playfully pushed Dottie away. "Yeah Dottie, lay off." Rylan crossed his arms, messing with Dottie.
"Is this what you were so excited about?" She looked at Daniel, addressing him.
"Maybeeeee...~" Daniel grinned.
"We missed you guys a whole lot, it's been so long." Rylan said, uncrossing his arms, he seemed a lot more mature than he did when they were little.
The moment was cut short by a loud crash, the group looked over as several werewolves began filling the hall, all watching two werewolves fight, one of them shoving a red-headed werewolf into a locker.
"What is that about.." Hayes questioned.
"Not sure, but probably about the whole alpha situation." Rylan pointed out.
"What's going on with the alphas?" Hayes asked, confused on what Rylan was talking about.
"Aphmau, our alpha female hasn't picked a new alpha male since our last one went to college.. it's been causing a lot of drama and fighting to see who's the toughest." Dottie spoke for Rylan.
"Aphmau...? You mean that human I saw earlier?" Hayes recalled hearing that name, but it was weird for a human to be alpha.
"Yeah, it's complicated, some freak accident caused it, I don't know much about it." Dottie responded to Hayes, flicking her tail as she continued to watch the fight go on.
Hayes stayed close to Daniel, unsure about the whole situation, she had never been too trusting of people, especially those that she didn't know, she tended to keep close to people she was very familiar with.
"Well she'd better pick an alpha male... and soon.. this can't keep happening." Daniel said with slight urgency, worried about the ordeal.
"Jax, Blaze! Cut it out!" Almost as if on cue, Aphmau showed up and stood between them to break up the fight.
"Tch, whatever.. alpha." Jax mocked her before walking off in disappointment of the fight being ended early.
"Sorry alpha-" Blaze was cut off by Aphmau, "sorry doesn't cut it, Blaze, you need to stop getting in these fights." Aphmau was pretty disappointed.
"But- Jax was picking on some others.. I was just trying to help." Blaze stood up for himself.
"Next time.. can you try to settle things with your words instead?" Aphmau said to him.
"I'll try.. I'm sorry alpha." Blaze said respectfully, his ears flattened, Aphmau walked away with a sigh.
Blaze noticed Dottie and Rylan and headed over, "oh hey guys! How's it going- hm, who are they? Friends?" Blaze noticed Hayes and Daniel.
"Yeah! Daniel, Hayes, meet our new friend, Blaze!" Dottie perked up.
"Nice to meet ya, Blaze! I'm Daniel, and this is my lil sis, Hayes!" He gestured to Hayes, she only nodded in acknowledgement before looking away, not too interested in getting involved with new people.
"Aw, Hayes, stop being such a sour-puss." Daniel whined, shaking her by the shoulders.
"Same ol' Hayes, huh?" Rylan spoke up, not surprised by her reluctance.
"Ya guys wanna hang out after school ends?" Blaze said happily, he seemed like a confident, spunky, and friendly person.
"Yeah! Where at?!" Dottie said, hyped up as well.
"I was thinking we could go to the park! I heard they had some food trucks down there this evening." Blaze wagged his tail slowly.
"That sounds fun, I'm hungry." Rylan complained.
"You're always hungry, Rylan." Daniel pointed out, "I'm in, and I'll drag the mope along too." Daniel said.
"At least I don't have my mommy pack my lunch everyday like you do." She stared him dead in the eyes.
"So mean.." Daniel whined, as if he was actually offended by her statement.
"Ya'll are pretty silly, bros, I find it hilarious." Blaze laughed, grinning a happy, toothy grin, his tail still wagging.
Hayes stared at the very outgoing, cheerful boy, intimidated by his personality, a stark contrast to her own, she shifted her feet uncomfortably.
Blaze didn't even notice, "Rylan, whatcha staring at~" Rylan was looking at a werewolf that was on the far end of the hall, one with dark blue ears and tail, he was getting yelled at about having piercings in his ears. "Oh, nothing.. just the usual strict dress code going on over there." Rylan eventually spoke after a long pause.
"Yeahhh, I don't see the big deal, it's just a piercing, I get gettin in some trouble for trying to pierce your ears at school, but not if you're already wearing them, silly rules, eh?"

Time seemed to fly by quicker than Hayes expected, classes seemed quick and easy, minus the homework they handed out. She pretty much zoned out for half the lectures; they were rather boring anyways. She had one last class of the day, a biology class that Blaze was in as well. Blaze— who had recently transferred from an algebra class— sat down in front of her. Hayes was writing on a piece of paper, hoping that she would look busy enough that he wouldn't try to conversate. She held the pen tightly, her knees up to her chest, she was fixated on the sheet of paper as if it was her worst enemy.
