Mornings in the Moretti mansion were usually chaos—or eerily silent.

No in-between.

Today? Absolute chaos.

Serena padded down the grand staircase in her oversized hoodie (stolen from Nico), cat-faced slippers, and a bun so messy it had its own zip code. She looked like the human equivalent of "five more minutes," but her mood—shockingly—seemed lighter than it had in days.

Until she hit the kitchen and froze.

There was someone in there.

Someone who wasn't family.

Her brain short-circuited. "Theo?!"

Theodore, freshly bandaged across the forehead and sipping a cup of coffee like it was just another Tuesday, turned toward her with a soft smile.

"Ms. Serena," he greeted warmly.

"Oh my God, Theo! Are you okay? Shit—that was a dumb question—wait, is it hurting? No—fuck, that's dumber—God, I'm being stupid, I'll shut up now—"

He chuckled, amused. "I'm fine, Ms. Serena. Thank you for your concern."

She blinked, cheeks going from zero to nuclear in three seconds flat. "Right. Cool. I'm just gonna—uh—stand over here and not be a disaster."

"Too late," Dante snorted, espresso in hand, like the smug devil he was.

"Bite me, Casanova."

"Language," Alessandro muttered without looking up from his phone.

She dropped into the chair beside him with a theatrical groan.

"Good morning, princess," Alessandro said, softer than usual—warm, grounding.

"Morning," she murmured.

Luca raised a brow. "Why are you up so early?"

She shrugged, picking at a croissant. "I wanna go to college."

Dead.

Silence.

Then—

"No."

Perfect mafia harmony. Like a boy band of overprotective psychos.

She blinked. "Damn. Okay. That was aggressive."

"No fucking way you're stepping out of this house," Adrian said, stone-faced.

"You were literally kidnapped two days ago," Luca added, eyes sharp.

"AND had a full-on panic attack last night," Nico said. "We're not risking you spiraling in a classroom full of hormonal strangers."

Serena folded her arms and pouted. "It helps me stay distracted."

"That's not good enough," Dante deadpanned.

She smirked. "Kayden's gonna be there too."

Five pairs of eyes snapped to her like she'd just said Beelzebub's my boyfriend.
