AFTER THE LAST CHAPTER:
CARMEN'S THIRD POV:
Carmen shut the gates with a slam behind herself, her Amber eyes set on her pale skin with her brows furrowed. Her hand roughly retracted as she retrieved the entrance key.
It was an aggressive act of irritation and as she scanned the gate behind herself, she understood that. Her knitted brows slowly loosened. With a brief sigh, the woman began to walk down the sidewalk, the thought of a certain boy clouding her mind.
"No...it's fine"
(Y/n)...
She'd barely met this kid a couple of days ago, so why did she feel the need to get attached? Why did she feel the need to be a part of his life? She just didn't understand.
Actually....
"I'm fine...so just get off my back."
She did.
(Y/n) Was similar to her brother...
Stupid, and blinded by whatever wall that towered over him. She wasn't sure what wall blocked him from telling her the truth, but she wanted to help.
She missed her chance with her younger sibling so she just wished this boy, would give her the liberty of doing it now.
Carmen didn't want to make the same mistake again.
She looked away from her brother once before, her only family member left, and when she looked back a year had already passed and all that was left was a corpse.
A dry corpse, with little flesh and rotting blood.
If only her brother had just told her, if he had just climbed over that wall he built and relied on her-
No, if only she had paid attention, and crashed past that same wall herself instead of expecting him to come around the corner
Even if it meant quitting college or her job.
She....

I should have done something.

But, there was nothing she could do now...
...and blaming herself wasn't going to fix her problem and overcome these feelings. All she could do now was...not make the same mistake.
Sadly...
The woman was afraid that one day she would blink again and suddenly (Y/n) was bloody too. Bloody and bruised just like she always saw him, but in this imagination of anxiety, he wasn't breathing.
Just like-
The woman stopped in her tracks, right beside a crowd of others who waited for a green light to turn red. She was at a streetlight.
Cars breezed a brief wind each time they passed, blowing Carmen's long raven hair. Slowly, the light shifted from yellow to red.
The crowd of civilians pushed forward, the amber-eyed woman followed in the center. Her hand tightly clung to the side of her purse before the crowd slowly disbanded at the other side of the sidewalk.
Just as the woman left the crowd, she made sure to check her pockets and shoulder bag for any missing belongings.
Thieves were common on the south western side of Ninjago, it was a well known fact in the area.
