I found Hershal in the barn feeding the horses.
"Hershal?"
"Yes?"
"You need to go to the house. Its Beth."
"She hurt?" He asked worry all in his voice.
"No, she well. Lori found her with a knife. She had gotten it off her lunch plate. She is wanting to harm herself."
His face fell. "Okay. Okay, umm.okay" He started to hurry through his chores.
"Hershal let me finish up please. You go see about Beth. Just tell me what you need done."
He nodded, "Okay I have the feed buckets ready they are over there." He pointed to a black bin with a couple of buckets on top. "Just feed them those, their names are on the buckets, same thing with the stalls. And make sure they have water." Hershal said quickly before hurrying off to the house.
Guess I would ask him about the fishing pole later. Now wasn't a good time besides maybe we could have fish tomorrow instead.
I grabbed the first bucket, it was blue with the name "Luna" on it and I found her stall. She was a beautiful white mare with a black dot on her forehead. I smiled scratching her nose, before continuing to match the buckets to their corresponding names on the stall doors. After that I checked their water and filled up most of them.
I smiled thinking about when we did have horses before the fire. We had five, Minnie, Molly, Fable, Boots, and Pops. They were sold off to pay for my family's funeral expenses. The property was too. I miss the summer afternoons taking trail rides with my family and my dog following along.
I looked over seeing Andrea running towards the house. Something is wrong. I ran over as fast as I could.
When I got there Maggie had made her way down the stairs to meet Andrea. Something was wrong.
Lori stood on the porch as well.
"Where were you?"
"I heard is she all right?"
"She would be if you had stayed with her, where were you?"
"How bad is she?"
"It wasn't deep." Lori chimed in
"She wants to live she made her decision."
"She tried to kill herself!"
"No she didn't."
"My father is stitching her wrist right now!"
"She'll live" and with that Andrea tries to walk past Maggie but she blocked her path.
"Stay away from her, from both of us. Don't you dare set foot inside this house again." Andrea looked shocked at Maggie's words. She looked at Lori then to me before walking off.
I looked at Maggie, "What happened?"
"Beth tried to kill herself, with the mirror in her bathroom. I left her alone with Andrea for just a few minutes...If I had just been a few more minutes.." She didn't finish the thought she just went inside. Lori and I followed after.
Hershal was in his bedroom wrapping her wrist with gauze as she looked out the window watching Andrea walking off still.
"Hey Beth." Beth looked at me and just gave me a small smile.
"Beth do you like to fish?"
"Gross" she said grimacing.
"No worries was gonna take you tomorrow if you did."
