"Some ghosts don't knock. They just leave files on your desktop and wait for you to press play."

📆 2025 – 2:18 AM | Mira's Condo

📞 Phone ringing...

Mira almost didn't pick up. Pero nakita niya sa screen:
Kara – Signal: Encrypted

She sighed. Answered.
"May sunog ba?"

"Wala. Pero ikaw, gising pa rin."

"Insomnia. Ulit."

Tahimik si Kara saglit. Then, casually:

"Na-receive mo ba 'yung USB na binigay ko kay Elisse para iabot sayo?"

"Akala ko for archive lang 'yon."

"Well... not exactly."

Pause.

Kara's voice dropped lower.

"Wala akong sinasabi ha. But if you are looking for clues... maybe now's the time."

Mira blinked. "Ano 'to, pa-riddle?"

"No, Mira. Reminder."

Another pause. Then Kara added — "It's about to face your demon."

May diin sa boses niya. Tahimik pero matalim. Kara is referring to the past she wants to bury.

"You need to — if you really want to crack it open. And when you do, ... mag-ingat ka. Hindi lahat ng file, may close button. Some stay in your head."

The line clicked.

Call ended.

Mira stared at the phone.

Then slowly, she reached into her drawer.

She took the old USB necklace — the one she hadn't touched since 2020 — and held it under the desk lamp.

The blinking cursor on the screen was mocking her now.

The file was already open.

Paused on the exact frame.

A shadowed figure just outside the window of her old dorm room in Ortigas.

Hindi kita ang mukha.

Pero minsan, mas masakit ang hindi pangalan — kundi pamilyar.

The slope of the shoulder.

The way he paused.

Yung bitin na lakad bago tuluyang umatras pabalik sa dilim.

She had watched it five times tonight.

Still couldn't breathe right.

Tahimik ang inbox niya.

Pero ang paranoia, buhay na buhay.

Mira sat in the dark — the laptop screen glowing faintly against her face.

The untouched coffee beside her was long cold.

Her body was still.

Pero 'yung dibdib niya? Mabigat.

Like she swallowed a stone — a memory she couldn't pass.

And now that she had the video...

It wasn't metaphor anymore. It was message.
