Chapter 37: Stirring Up Heat in the Kitchen
The kitchen buzzed with activity, laughter, and a few lingering blushes from the earlier teasing.
Fuka leaned against the counter, a sly smile playing on her lips. “You know… I’ve been thinking,” she said, licking her lips teasingly. “Maybe tonight, we should try controlling Ayanokoji in bed. I heard guys like it when we give them a little fight…”
Suzune, chopping vegetables with precision, gave Fuka a sideways glance. “You know Ayanokoji… he can handle all three of us like it’s nothing.”
Fuka giggled. “That’s what makes it exciting.”
Tachibana, stirring a pot with mild frustration, added casually, “Well, for the record… me and Manabu already did it. Before this whole apocalypse even started.” Her tone was calm, but her cheeks betrayed her with a soft pink hue.
That made Honami Ichinose freeze mid-step. “W-Where am I even supposed to sleep tonight…?”
Before anyone could answer, Fuka suddenly appeared behind her and gently poked her chest. “Why not join Ayanokoji’s harem?” she whispered teasingly.
Honami turned red instantly. “I-I’m not ready!”
“Oh? So you want to, just not mentally ready yet?” Fuka said with a grin.
“Stop teasing her,” Sae scolded, walking over and pulling Fuka away with a light tug. “Help with dinner. Ayanokoji eats more than any of us now with all that power.”
“He’s not the only one,” Suzune added while focusing on the food. “We’ve been eating more too. Our powers… they’re draining our energy faster.”
Fuka stretched and joined in helping, tossing a playful wink toward Honami. “Okay, okay. I’ll behave. For now.”
Honami just stared at the pot in front of her, cheeks still red, clearly unsure if she was more flustered by the teasing… or the truth behind it.
And in the background, dinner simmered gently—filling the warm base with the scent of a family that had formed under fire.
