"I forgive you Ranveer You know…” Aarya whispered, her voice barely audible in the quiet night, “yesterday, I slept peacefully after years not because I m drunk . You know why?”

Ranveer looked down at her, his fingers brushing through her hair.

“Because you were with me,” she finished softly.

He didn’t say a word—just leaned down and placed a long, tender kiss on her forehead.

They laid there, wrapped in each other, letting the silence speak.

A moment later, Aarya shifted, resting fully on him, pressing herself closer, her head tucked beneath his chin. Her arms circled him, possessive, gentle.

Then, without a word, she slipped under his sweatshirt, seeking warmth, closeness… him.

She kissed his chest, slow and lingering.

“I missed this… this peace,” she murmured against his skin.

His arms tightened around her immediately, as if protecting something fragile. “I’m sorry, biwi,” he said, voice heavy with guilt. “It’s all because of me.”

Her legs rested comfortably over his, her entire body draped over him like he was her only home.

Ranveer…” she said quietly.

Hmm, biwi,” he hummed, his fingers moving softly along her back, drawing invisible lines, calming her.

He shifted slightly, making her more comfortable under his hold.

Then her voice cut through the night, sharp and direct. “Did you… ever enter into any relationship in these five years?”

His fingers stilled. He pulled back slightly to look at her.

Never, Aarya,” he said firmly. “When you weren’t with me, I tried to hate you. I tried to move on. But…” he exhaled, “you were in my veins. Everywhere. I couldn’t.”

Aarya slowly emerged from under his sweatshirt, her eyes locked onto his.

“So you’re saying… you didn’t… you haven’t been with anyone physically?” she asked, not blinking.

Ranveer didn’t flinch.

No,” he said. “I did it only … with you, biwi. Never before that. Never after.”

Silence settled again—thick with emotion, with the truth hanging between them.

She didn’t say anything.

She just laid her head on his chest again, her arms curling tighter around him.

And he held her like she was his whole world—because she always had been.

Aarya didn’t respond immediately, just rested there—breathing him in, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath her cheek.

Ranveer’s fingers resumed their gentle trail along her back, occasionally slipping beneath the fabric of her top, not with hunger, but with a tenderness that made her close her eyes.

You still do that…” she whispered.

What?” he asked, lips brushing her hair.

“Stroke my back when I can’t sleep.”

He smiled against her, his hand curling protectively around her waist. “Some habits are permanent. Like you.”
