"You're taking literature as part of your course?" he asked as you walked.

"Yeah," you smiled. "I find it interesting."

"Careful," he warned. "I heard the professor's terrible."

You laughed. "Noted."

After a quick thank-you and goodbye, you stepped into the lecture hall. You were early, so you picked a spot in the middle. As students slowly filtered in, you kept scanning the room, hoping to spot a familiar face.

No luck.

Until—

Of course. Aaron.

You watched him enter like some kind of brooding NPC, making a beeline for the back of the room.

You raised your hand and gave him a little wave.

He didn't wave back.

Didn't even look your way.

Ouch. Maybe he couldn't see you? That bandana did hang low over his eyes. You wouldn't be surprised if he had just flat out ignored you though. Oh well, it can't be helped.

Your first week at Falcon Claw University was everything you'd dreamt it would be and more. The students were nice, well most of them, and the professors were great too albeit a little tough. Your favorite class so far was your 11:00 AM Monday and Wednesday class.

Your least favorite was your Literature class with Aaron. Your friend was right when he warned you about that professor. The guy was terrifyingly strict about attendance, didn't allow phones at all, and had this way of looking at students like they personally offended him by existing. On the first day, he outlined how the tests would go. Apparently, you were expected to memorize over 30 literary "keys" per test, whatever that meant, and regurgitate them like your life depended on it.

It was still a few weeks before the first exam, but the collective sense of dread had already settled in like a heavy cloud.

Advanced Engineering Mathematics wasn't as bad though, The teacher is easy to understand and willing to help(a mythical creature that doesn't exist irl). Aaron liked her because she wasn't the type to call on students unless they needed help with something.

"Aph, pleaseee" you groan from her bed, limbs dramatically sprawled out like a starfish that gave up on life.

Tera had Saturday classes, which meant one thing: you had every right to crash at their dorm and bother Aphmau. I mean, it's not like you had a roommate to annoy back at your own dorm, so why not make it her problem?

"I am NOT massaging you." She says.

I cover my eyes and sob dramatically, "Irene, Why is my friend so cruel to meee!!"

She rolls her eyes, completely unfazed by your whining.
"Nope. Not happening," she says, clicking away at her laptop like you weren't currently dying right next to her.

You let out another groan, flopping dramatically onto your side. "You're heartless, Aph. Do you enjoy watching me suffer?"

She sighs. "Yes. Very much."

You gasp, hand flying to your chest.

Aphmau just snorts and stands up, walking over to her mini-fridge. She opens it, rummaging through the mess of half-empty boba cups and suspicious Tupperwares, and tosses something in your direction.
