The city was quiet again. The ghosts had returned to the other side, the forces of darkness had been banished. But Elena still walked through the world, feeling like a stranger in her own skin.
But she wasn't alone.
Eligh was there, always beside her. Bonnie and Jeremy had returned, and even Stefan and Damon, though distant, had felt the shift in the world. They were no longer bound by the past. The world had changed, and they had all changed with it.
Elena took a deep breath, standing by the bayou, feeling the winds shift around her. For the first time in a long while, she felt like she was standing at the edge of something new.
"I don't know what the future holds," Elena said, her voice steady.
Eligh's hand brushed hers. "It's not about knowing, Elena. It's about facing it. Together."
And as the sun set over the water, Elena knew the fight was over-for now. But the world had changed, and so had she.
