then a few boys thought it was funny to bring up her name

sieun was sitting in the back of the classroom with his headphones in trying to ignore the pounding in his head
he hadn't heard from her in days
not really
just that phone call cold, distant, the way she said she didn't want him anymore
that maybe her mom would love her if they weren't friends
but he knew her
he knew her too well to believe that
and that's what scared him
"yo you hear about that girl he hangs with? apparently she got roasted at school real bad" one of the boys across the room snickered
laughter.
another voice chimed in
"some chick from another school wrote poems about him in her journal like some sad little love story."

sieun had slammed his hand down on the desk
headphones out.

"who said that?" sieun asked with his voice low and razor-sharp
the boys looked around nervous
