The atmosphere was calm and tranquil, no apparent noise or hustle but the air of the specific range was filled with distress and trepidation. Silence broke with fragments of few alphabets. If a heartbreak ever had a shape of words, it sounded like this
"Any l.last words??" He asked composing himself while he pointed the gun at him.
"As if you would believe me"
He smiled sarcastically and tears formed in his eyes.
Yeonjun's heart stopped beating. His hands were trembling. As soon as he wanted to press the trigger of the pistol. All he could feel, was the pain in his heart.
Soobin was staring at him with a slight smile. His eyes could not hold back any more tears.
"I.i am giving you a last chance." Yeonjun said in a weak voice
Soobin just smiled in response...
Taking a long breath, he closed his eyes and pressed the trigger. He shot at his sweetheart with trembling hands.
Now...
He did not have the courage to open his eyes that he heard the same loving voice.
"Y.you ah.always used t.to s.ay...
I will t.take yoU.r life. I w.ll t.take haa.. y...r l.ife. (he said in a shaky voice and expiring breaths as he whimpered in pain) Y.ou r.really pr.oved it today"
With that, he fell on the ground with a thud and his blood-soaked body was lying without any movements
"S.soobin"
His breath hitched as fear travelled his whole body as he saw him falling lifelessly

"I solemnly swear this with my life and wealth

They repeated
A row of newly trained officers took Oath to serve themselves, since they're being prepared for months for their official appointment

"Today finally our training is over, how does it feel?"
Yeonjun said to Soobin as they were packing their stuff
"Man, I felt like I placing my life in the palm of my hand and presented in the feet of my country.
There were a few words to say in Oath, but for me.
It's a promise to stake one's life for the country, which I will do till the end" Soobin replied
"My... Father was in military... A Commander.
He died... After getting caught by terrorists. I also wanted to become a commander, following my father.
(He stopped for a while, took a deep breath and continued.)
Soobin can you believe? when my father's dead body was placed in front of us.... (He closed his eyes and sighed)
I can still hear the painful screams of my mother, while taking away my father's dead body."
He kept his luggage aside and sat in front of Soobin, who was already done packing.
"He lost his life but did not betray his country. I had promised myself then... that I will send the traitors of my country to hell, Even if I have to give my life for this? So, This promise of mine is for many years, not just for today's oath.
"Then, Let's fulfill this pledge together."
Soobin said with a smile.
"Soobin.. what if... We get appointed to the same area."
"Damn... (He felt excited) Well we have 60% possibility."

"Haha... narcissistic. As if nobody was willing to share the same headquarters as me for posting, a while ago 😏"
"My bad who got tangled with a clown human like you, Who has the same dream as me" yeonjun said in a fake sad tone.
"You know Soobin, It was my biggest dream to get into NIS" he added excitedly
"Mine too...
Then... I'm shifting in with you"
"Sure... But my hostel room is booked already 😏"
"Who's it?"
"Zhan... Sean Xiao Zhan"
"Beg him for me to move out" (he laughed)
"My ass" yeonjun spat
