In less than an hour later, my apartment was full of random people, few I knew, and a lot I didn't. That's why I said Sally knew too many people.

With drink in hand, I was standing beside the couch talking with Kate. I would say it was rather interesting talk.

"Your place is so amazing! I wish I could live in a place like this."

Yeahh I most definitely couldn't hear that sarcasm behind those words. I just sipped on my drink and looked around.

"Yeah, well, it's modest. At least some of us can pay for our own things."

I just smiled at her sweetly while her eyes went wide by my words. It was no secret that her rich husband was paying for everything in her life. I'm even surprised she came since she 'upgraded' to higher status.

Kate was about to say something, but Sally yelled my name. I turned around and saw her approaching me with some guy.

"Y/N, this is Liam. Turns out all three of us went to the same school. I'm not lying when I'm saying I don't remember him."

I eyed the man. I reached my hand out to a handshake. He accepted it and handed me a bottle. Kate giggled.

"Well, I'm gonna leave you two to it. I have a lot of people to talk with."

"I heard this is a housewarming party. So I came with a little gift."

"Oh, you shouldn't have. I already told Sally to inform everyone that there is no need for gifts."

Kate walked past me and scoffed. I swear I would have slapped her in face if she wasn't Sally's friend. I think even Liam noticed since he looked back at Kate with weird expression.

"So same school?"

I catched Liams attention again. He smiled at me and nodded.

"Yeah, so I guess you don't remember me, neither?"

"Yeahh, sorry, I don't recall."

Liam just shook his head and chuckled. He looked around us before leaning towards me and whispered.

"It's me 'The fat chump'."

My eyes went wide when Liam leaned away. I scanned him completely. No way, it's that kid.

"No way! Really?"

Liam just laughed a little harder. He pointed at himself.

"I actually turned out okay."

"Not just okay! Wow, you really had a glow up. No surprise we couldn't recognise you."

I took a sip from my drink again. He truly did grow up handsome. Well, we haven't seen each other like in years.

Liam and I continued to talk. The conversation was flowing smoothly until I was called to open the front door. Apparently, the doorbell has been ringing for quite some time.

I excused myself and went towards the door. As I opened it, I was greeted by a familiar face.

"Hey."

Xavier greeted me while holding a bouquet of flowers. Confused, I just reached out to take the flowers.

"Hey."

"I remembered what you said about the housewarming party, so I got you these to welcome you. I hope it's nothing too much."

I smiled at Xavier. I don't know. Just something about flowers made it so cute.

"Oh, thank you, and don't worry, I received things even I think is too much for a gift."

We both laughed. Ahh, it would be weird to just stand here.

"Would you like to come in?"

Xavier glanced inside the room and then looked straight at me and gave me a small smile.

"Thank you, but I will have to decline."

My face dropped. Well, I thought maybe at least the closest neighbour would party with me. It's all about the relationship building.

However, I didn't want him to leave just yet. I mentioned him to stay right here. I ran to the kitchen and placed a slice of cake on a piece of tissue.

I took the cake and now I have to find Sally. When I finally spotted her talking to some random people, I speed walked towards her.

I leaned to her and whispered as she finally gave me some attention.

"I'm gonna leave for 20 minutes. Take care of everything."

She looked at me confused.

"This is your party."

I gave her 'are you serious look'. She glanced past my shoulder and smiled brightly.

"Are you sure this is my party?"

I laughed. She gave me a nod, signalled I could go. As I turned around, she slapped me on my butt and winked at me. I just shook my head. As I went towards the door where Xavier was standing, I took my jacket with me.

I went outside and closed the door behind me. Xavier looked confused a little. Well, I would be, too.

"Here, this is a cake for you. I mean a piece of cake."

Slowly but surely, Xavier took the cake from me. Still, he was looking at me with confusion. He glanced at my jacket and then back at me.

"Are you going somewhere?"

Well, my plan is to say I'm getting some fresh air with hope that he's gonna accompany me.

"Just to get some fresh air."

Xavier looked at the cake and then at me and then at his apartment.

"Wait here."

Did it work? Is he going to come? Well, I could ask myself why I'm doing this...I actually don't know myself it just felt like something I had to do.

Soon, Xavier came out of his apartment with a jacket on. A small smile appeared on my lips.

"Can I accompany you?"

I just nodded. Xavier locked his door and stood beside me.

"Well, shall we go?"

I nodded again like some robot. I don't know why I couldn't hide my smile. Maybe it was that finally I got free from all those people.

"Is it okay for you to just leave?"

"Yess.. I already told Sally everything. And I don't really like crowds of people. I don't know half of those people."

I laughed a little that was followed by Xavier chuckles.

"Well then, where do you wanna go?"
