Gyutaro hunted through the night for his next meal through the trees near the entertainment district.

Daki at his side sat next to him as she watched the pests beneath her. "Oni-chan, look!"

Daki pointed to a certain h/c haired woman who was leaving a nearby town with a basket full of fresh food to bring back home for dinner.

Gyutaro smirked at what was his soon to be next prey.

"Let's go. She'll be the perfect meal."

The two demon siblings followed the doctor back to her home.

"Let me handle this." Gyutaro told Daki as he gripped his poisoned sickles in his hands.

His knuckles whitened as he felt the urge to rip out his skin.

Behind them, unbeknownst to their knowledge, was one of Gyokko's vase, which shook as their higher up came out. "Well, well, I wasn't expecting to see you two, hyo!"

The two startled siblings jumped back onto the ground. Gyutaro glared at the voice but tensed up as he saw their superior.

"Oh, upper five, hi." Daki mumbled, trying to hide her slight disgust and annoyance.

"I didn't know the runts of the uppermoons were interested in Lady L/N." Gyokko chuckled, making the duo shift in discomfort.

"Though, I can't blame you. She is one of the most women you could meet." Gyokko blushed, which made Daki a bit jealous.

Gyutaro cocked an eyebrow at the compliment. "Hold on, you know her?"

"Of course, even Lord Muzan-sama met her. So, I'm going to tell you this." Gyokko cleared his throat. "Do not kill her!" Gyokko shook the two violently.

"Why not?" Daki pouted as she pulled away from Gyokko.

"Lady L/N is working with our king, and if she dies, he's probably going to be very angry!" The fish demon continued to shake the siblings.

"OK! OK, we get it!" Daki shouted as she pulled herself and Gyutaro away from Gyokko.

Gyutaro groaned as he scratched at the skin under his eye from agitation. "Come on, Daki. We'll find something else to eat."

Before the two could even get close to leaving, Gyokko grabbed their arms. "Now, now, you two have to meet her!"

Dammit.

That was the only thing the two could think of as Gyokko knocked on Y/N's window to her room.

Gyutaro always got jealous of pretty people who weren't his sister.

Daki, on the other hand, was more on the defense of how the woman would react to her brother. Who was considered ugly by society.

The window to Y/N's room opened, giving the three access. "Bring them in, Gyokko."

Y/N called out from her desk, which Gyokko happily obliged and dragged the two siblings inside.

"Lady L/N, meet Gyutaro and Daki! The uppermoon six siblings."

Y/N raised an eyebrow. She wasn't really expecting there to be demon siblings. At least they stuck together. "I'm Y/N L/N. Feel free to stay here. If you're hungry, no eating my patients or anyone in the village."

Daki and Gyutaro tilted their heads in confusion. That was all she cared about. She wasn't scared. She was just OK with it.

"I have work to do. Don't bother me while I'm doing it." Y/N said as she sipped her tea. "Make yourself at home."

They did.

The two stayed there for several hours. Gyutaro spent the hours, either reading, doing origami, and mainly training his blood demon art outside.

Even though Y/N said not to bother her, Daki kind of clung to the doctor whenever she got bored. Like a child who was desperate to be with their parent.

--------

Y/N sat with Daki at her side, giving her gentle heads rubs. Daki enjoyed them, especially. She never really had any human affection that wasn't sexual desires.

Y/N glanced at the girl laying her head on her lap. The doctor gently ran her fingers through Daki's dark black hair.

Y/N sighed and removed her flowered haori, wrapping it around the younger girl. "Here, you must be cold wearing clothes like that."

Tears built up in Daki's green eyes as she looked at the doctor. She couldn't understand why. Her hair was being gently stroked, and she had someone other than her brother caring for her. It felt more genuine than what anyone else had done for her.

"Thank you." Daki mumbled under a soft breath, barely audible. But Y/N heard crystal clear. Even if Daki was being as quiet as a mouse to not bother her with her stuff.

"Yeah, no problem."

--------

"Oni-chan, we have to stay!" Daki pouted as the night fell upon them once again. She didn't want to leave the doctor. Something about her made Daki want to stay.

"Fine." Gyutaro sighed. "We can stay for one more day. Then, we're getting back to work."

Daki quickly hugged her brother as she jumped in glee. Truth to be told, Gyutaro didn't want to leave either. Something about Y/N made him feel safe without having to use his demon abilities. But, he felt like he had to go back to the entertainment district despite hating it.

Gyokko appeared behind the two, his vase shaking as he came out. "Aww, how cute. Oh, Lady L/N has to know!"

The two siblings jumped away, feeling startled once again at their higher up's presence.

"Can we please have a moment of peace?" Gyutaro asked with a glare tempting to leave his eyes.

Gyokko crossed his arms and huffed. "Hey, you stepped on my turf. I say it's fair." Gyokko went back into his pot, which raddled on the wooden steps that led into Y/N's house.

--------

Y/N sighed as she watched the vase on her desk shook and rattled in front of. In crawled out Gyokko. "Good news, Lady Y/N!"

"I know, Daki and Gyutaro are staying here for another day, I heard."

Gyokko gave a dramatic gasp. "I was hoping to give you the big news." Gyokko crossed his arms once again. "You could've at least pretended that you were unaware."

Y/N rolled her eyes but couldn't help but find Gyokko's childish behavior kind of amusing. "Fine, next time, I'll pretend to be surprised."

A smile tried to creep its way onto Y/N's face, which she suppressed. But it didn't go unnoticed to the demon. A smile that he hadn't seen before.

"You were about to smile!"

Y/N tensed up at her error. All she did was freeze for a moment as she took a moment to process before denying his statement.

"No, I didn't. You must have been seeing things."

Gyokko frowned as the woman refused to believe him with her same nonchalant tone in play.

"Yes, you did."

"No, I didn't."

"Yes, you did."

"No, I didn't."

"Yes, you did, damnit!"

And that's how the next hour was spent. With Y/N denying the allegations by Gyokko about her smiling and Daki and Gyutaro both hiding out by her room door like two kids listening to their parents argue.
