Rhea had always been the kind of girl who noticed details others missed. And now that her eyes had found him, she became sharper than ever.
She noticed what time his group usually passed by the canteen.
She noticed which staircase they used, which floor they usually gathered on between classes, even which bench he preferred in the back garden near the old wall with chipping paint.
And then, like any girl with a quiet obsession and a strong Wi-Fi connection, she got to work.
Operation Get Closer to the Mystery Guy had officially begun.
It started small. She began casually hanging around the first-floor corridor where his class was. Her friends didn’t suspect anything, Rhea was always social, always smiling, always “just there.”
But now, her presence had a purpose.
Then came the next step: friends of friends. She noticed two girls from his class who also happened to be on good terms with Shristi.
Perfect. She slid into casual conversations with them in the library, joined them for chai near the gate.
Just a few laughs, just enough warmth to be noticed.
All of it was smooth. Effortless.
Fun, even. But underneath, her intentions were clear:
She wanted to see him more.
Not talk.
Not approach.
Not yet.
Just see. From a safe distance.
Because some feelings grow best in quiet corners of the heart.
