The next morning, the rain was gone—but its aftermath was still everywhere. Muddy shoes, soaked uniforms… and awkward energy between Y/N and Keifer.

She had barely slept. Every time she closed her eyes, she felt Keifer’s lips again. The kiss.

She walked into class quietly, hoping to avoid attention. Nope.

“EH? EH?!?!” shouted CI-N the moment she stepped in. “YOU TWO DISAPPEARED YESTERDAY! DON’T THINK WE DIDN’T NOTICE!”

Felix raised a brow, nudging Calix. “May halikang naganap ‘no?”

Even Rakki from Section B peeked through the door. “Spill the tea, sis.”

Y/N turned red. Keifer, who was already sitting, just sipped his coffee like a smug prince.

“Nothing happened,” Y/N muttered, sliding into her seat.

“Nothing?” CI-N gasped dramatically. “That’s what everyone says before a love triangle explodes! Keifer! Confirm!”

Keifer leaned back, smirking. “Can’t kiss and tell.”

The entire class roared. Felix pretended to faint. Calix threw a paper ball at Keifer’s head.

But not everyone was laughing.

Yuri was quiet. Too quiet.

He hadn’t even looked at Y/N since the moment he walked in. His cold silence was louder than CI-N’s jokes. The air between them was ice.

Y/N tried not to look at him, but it was hard. She could feel his stare from across the room when no one else was watching. It wasn’t the playful, cocky Yuri anymore.

It was something darker. Like a storm was coming again.

At break time, Keifer and Y/N found themselves alone in the hallway. She clutched her books tightly.

“About yesterday…” she began.

“I meant it,” Keifer said before she could finish. “Every word. Every kiss.”

Y/N looked up at him. “I’m scared, Keifer.”

He smiled, soft this time. “Me too. But I’m not backing off. Not even if Yuri tries to come between us again.”

As if summoned, Yuri walked past them right then. His shoulder brushed Keifer’s on purpose.

“You better mean that,” Yuri said without stopping. “Because I do.”

Keifer’s jaw tightened.

Y/N’s heart pounded again—but this time, from fear.

The war had begun.
