"Ava-" 

"I have you but there will always be random men trying to have my hand just to gain all the power for themselves. that's why I am glad we are together, you can save me from those assholes," I said taking a sip of wine once I was finished. "I'm so happy we are together and we will be together, those dumb guys wont come try to marry me as long as we are dating." 

I felt him go stiff beside me, "Ava, um," he took a deep breath, my eyes narrowed in confusion. "I have to tell you something. . ." 

I sat up and looked at him still confused, "what is it?" I asked, "what's wrong?"

he stared at me for a moment as if he was thinking about what to say, his eyes were filled with worry and fear and something like dread. he took a sip of his wine before looking back at where I was staring at him still waiting for my answer, his hand reached out and he put his hand on my chin brushing his thumb over my bottom lip very gently. "I just wanted to say I love you," he said giving me a smile. 

I was confused only for a second more before a small smile was put onto my face, "I love you too," I said. 

he took both our wine glasses and put them down before he pulled me into his lap, I didn't waste a second before my mouth was on his. he ran his hands up and down my body in a way that made me shiver in his arms. those kisses we shared that night were slower, gentler than all the other times we had kissed, he was savoring the kiss. he was trying to make the kiss last forever, I didn't understand because I thought we had all the time in the world to be together. 

I thought we had all the time in the world, that was until I woke up a week later and he wasn't there, he was gone, he had left me. he had left me and he was never coming back.

"Princess Ava may I speak to you for a moment?" 

I stop my walk at the sound of the voice I would very much like to stop talking to. Cyrus has been trying to be friends with me, he is very nice and I would like to be friends with him but I cant risk letting anyone else in. I cant let myself get close to someone just for them to leave me, I cant do that to my heart again. it will kill me if I let someone else in who just ends up hurting me. 

I don't want to be that asshole girl so I turn around on the stone path where I was walking in the garden and I watch him as he walks up to me. "your highness," he says taking my hand and giving it a small kiss as he bows.  "I know that you may not like me and you may not want to be friends, I understand that but I would like to get to know you better," I am about to say something but he cuts me off, he looks very nervous. "and before you say that you will talk to me later, I just wanted to say that we don't have to be friends if you truly don't want to, we can go our separate ways and never speak again." 

"I think it would be good for both of our kingdoms if we were friends though," he continues, his hands are in his pockets and his face is full of nervousness. in the few times I have briefly talked to him I have never seen him nervous. "our kingdoms have never really talked or been friends and since we will both be on our thrones someday I was hoping we could become friends. if you don't want to that is totally okay," he says with a small smile. 

be friends with him, he is nice he is handsome. it would benefit both of your countries if you were to be friends, they have gold and diamonds and exotic fruits in Valoria. these things could benefit your kingdom, you have to be a good queen.
