Returning to Manvale was just as magical as the first time Evan had been there. Even more so this time, as he was traveling into town on the bus with Ryan sitting right next to him, his head resting on his shoulder.

There weren't many occasions when they could travel together like this, and most of the time, sitting on the bus meant they were either leaving or coming to see each other—but now, they were together. That alone was enough to make Evan smile automatically.

They weren't the only ones coming to Manvale, though. A few hours later, they made their way back to the bus stop to wait for their friend, who was going to visit the werewolf pack for the first time—and he was appropriately excited about it.

The bus door had barely opened when Rory pushed through it with a large backpack on his back and ran over to them.

"I can't believe I'm here!" he exclaimed, throwing himself at them, wrapping an arm around both of their necks, and pulling them into a group hug.

His enthusiasm was fiercely infectious, and Evan had no idea whether he or Ryan had started giggling first. The youngest boy, of course, immediately joined them, and soon they were all just laughing and hugging (as much as Rory's big backpack would allow), standing at the stop in the middle of the wolf pack.

"Welcome to the supernatural world. Officially now," Ryan said first, after they let go.

"I can't wait to see everything," Rory assured him right away, a big smile on his face.

"You mean the neighborhood where wolves just roam the streets in animal form like it's normal?" Evan waved his hand around.

"Don't forget the vampire," his boyfriend added.

"Oh my god," Rory responded, as if he'd only just remembered that part. "I can't wait to meet him."

"He feels the same way too," Ryan assured him. "In fact, all three of us are invited to tea at his place this afternoon."

"Really?"

"He wants to get to know you," Evan replied instead of the ink-haired boy. "Before the ritual."

"I can't wait." Rory continued to smile enthusiastically, and Evan was glad. After all the calls and texts when he'd been worried about him, asking himself how Alexander could have kept the truth from him, he was happy to see him actually cheerful and carefree.

Before Rory could get to know the vampire, however, his first order of business was getting to know Ryan's family. Well, he met the dogs at their house first, and getting him away from them, since he'd tried to pet them all at once, had been nearly impossible.

"You've got all weekend," Ryan assured him with a laugh. "Besides, you haven't seen all the cats inside yet."

"Cats?" And just like that, Rory finally stepped inside.

Natalie and Oscar were both at home and made just as good an impression on him as they had on Evan when he first met them. They were the perfect example of the cool parents every teenager wanted, and Rory quickly found that out too.

"I love your parents," he told Ryan as they moved into his room.

"They like you too," Ryan immediately replied. "I've told them a lot about you. They're glad I have a friend I can relate to with the whole moving thing."

"How do they feel about me wanting to join your bond?" Rory asked, slight concern in his voice.

"They asked me about it, of course." The ink-haired boy sat down next to him on the bed. "They wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting into, and I assured them there was nothing to worry about. They trust me to make the right decision. Don't worry."
