Lloyd's P.O.V.:

Ethan, Peyton, and their six month old twin daughters, Erika and Darcy, were still living with us.

Erika was sick last week and when Peyton took her the hospital, they determined she was going through a very early version of an elemental fever. We weren't sure what powers they were getting because the rest in our family had already been passed down.

Peyton was adopted by her two dads, so it was very possible that she had an unknown elemental master in her biological family tree that could have been passed down to their daughter. She was using our scrolls to narrow down what power she could be getting.

Ethan walked back in after getting done with his food deliveries for the day. He looked tired and exhausted.

"Hey tiger, how did the day go?"

"Good. I made some pretty good tips." He told me. "Where's Peyton?"

"She's putting the twins down for a nap." I said. "Are you ok?"

"Honestly, can I talk to you about something?"

"Sure what's up?"

He sat down next to me and sighed. I knew something was wrong.

"Don't be mad at me, but I... I don't think I like being a parent." Ethan frowned.

"What?" I asked surprised.

"It's just, at first I thought I could do it, but then after surprisingly getting twins, I realized that I... I don't like it. I don't like having to constantly feed them, changing their diapers is disgusting, and when one is asleep, the other one is always crying and wakes the other one up." Ethan frowned. "I want to love them, I really do, but they just make it so hard."

"Ethan, I know you weren't expecting two babies, but it's what destiny decided to give you, and destiny always has a good reason for everything." I said. "I know this is hard, but once you get through this part it'll get better. Pretty soon they'll develop personalities and have their own interests. Then they'll start to do some things by themselves and you'll be able to play games with them and they'll learn how to walk and talk. Just stick it out and it'll get really fun later on, I promise."

"I don't know, I don't wanna walk out on Peyton and the girls, but at the same time I feel like I'm not good at being a father anyway. I feel like whether I stay or go, I'll be letting them down no matter what I do."

"Ethan you are not a bad dad, you're just new at this, you'll get the hang of it."

"It's been six months Dad. The girls already hate me. Yesterday I was trying to get Darcy to calm down and she bit my hand."

"They're teething, it's normal for them to do that."

"But every time I hold Erika she always cries. It's obvious they don't even like me."

"I'm sure that's not true." I said. "The crying thing is probably just a phase."

"No, it is true. It's every single time I hold her." Ethan insisted. "Maybe I shouldn't even try anymore. Peyton would be better off raising them by herself."

"Don't say that, your girls need a father in their lives. Don't take that away from them."

"Your sure this is just a phase?"

"Absolutely. All you have to do is get through this part and then take it one step at a time from there. Trust me, one day you'll be grateful to have them in your life and you'll look back on all these moments you get with them and you'll feel great. Both the good and bad moments."
