Hae was singing at the top of her lungs in the passenger seat, her voice dramatic and full of emotion.
"And I lost you, the one I was dancin' with in New York, no shoes... looked up at the sky and it was maroooon!"
I glanced over at her, smiling. She really felt that Taylor Swift line.
We had just spent the afternoon digging through racks at a thrift shop, hunting for outfits for my new job. A couple of great finds were tucked in the backseat, and the sun was beginning to set, painting everything in soft gold.
As my hands rested on the steering wheel, I asked, "Hae, is there anywhere you wanna go after this?" She paused her impromptu concert and looked out the window. "I'm kinda hungry... but it's okay. I think I'll just eat whatever's in the fridge later."
I glance over at Hae and ask, "You sure you don't want to grab anything?" She keeps her eyes on the window, her voice calm as she replies, "Yeah, I'm good. I'll just make my own yogurt fruit bowl later." I smile, nodding in understanding. "Alright, sounds good. Please make one for me too"
Hae turns to me with a soft smile. "Of course."
I grin. "With granola?"
She laughs. "Only if you say I'm your favorite sister."
I chuckle. "You already know you are."She shakes her head, still smiling, as the car fills with quiet comfort.

Monday.
My eyes snap open, heart racing as the blaring alarm from my phone makes me want to cry. I fumble around on my cute little bedside table, fingers brushing over clutter until I finally grab my phone. 6:30 am. flashes on the screen.
"It's today," I whisper to myself, a mix of excitement and nerves bubbling up. I sit up slowly, the weight of the moment sinking in.
Today is the day I start my new part-time job.
"Thank God I picked out my outfit and ironed it last night," I say to myself, feeling a bit of relief. "Now I just have to shower, do my skincare, my hair... and makeup." I quickly glance at the time, mentally making a checklist of everything left to do. It's going to be a busy morning, but I'm ready.

As I park my car, I take a deep breath and quickly reapply my lip tint, whispering a little prayer that everything goes smoothly today. Stepping out, I smooth down my clothes and head toward the Ghibli shop. God, I'm so nervous.
The moment I walk in, a soft, chime-like sound greets me-something cute and whimsical, just like you'd expect from a place like this. I glance around, taking in the cozy shelves and familiar characters, then slowly make my way to the counter. But there's no one in sight.
Maybe the manager's in the storeroom. I guess... I'll just wait.
As I quietly take in the shop-the shelves filled with plushies, trinkets, and tiny Ghibli charms-a door creaks open and a man steps out from the storeroom.
"Oh, hi there. You must be the new staff-Nari, right?" he says, offering a warm, welcoming smile.
I quickly bow. "Yes! I'm Nari, the new part-time staff."
He bows back politely, his expression gentle. "I'm Kyomoon, the owner of the shop."
Oh. So he's the manager and the owner. Okay-mental note taken. Be extra careful not to mess up.
