Once more the first thing he saw when he woke up was the med Bay, yet another raging headache going on as he felt the familiar rush of adrenaline and mix of a sense of calm through his veins. It will forever be an odd sensation to him but he was still grateful nevertheless. This time he stayed laying down and didn't budge; Sage just looked him over quickly before leaving him be.
That gave him time to be alone with his thoughts; wondering what happened since everything was fuzzy once more. He remembered he wanted to see the alpha Earth (Y/n). Was this extra death from having to leave his own domain again? But he didn't remember even having a weapon equipped.
It was bothering him he couldn't remember but even if he tried to force himself to, the headache he had was making it practically impossible and he knew he'd have to be patient. But it was eating him up inside, wondering what happened or what went wrong-what he did or what she did. He raised his hands and rubbed his face gently before moving the hands up to rub his temples to try to soothe the headache.
Overthinking it would drive him insane and he knew it. But all he knew is he was longing for just something- some attention from (Y/n). And not a lash out, not a forced apology or some poor attempt to try to catch up the mistakes. He just wanted something genuine. And that alone was starting to make him think he was genuinely going insane.
He was going so far for so little and it felt pointless. It just felt utterly pointless to try so damn hard for someone who obviously couldn't care. His hands dropped while he tried to stay relaxed in the bed. He felt too energetic to sleep but knew he couldn't get up-but staying alone with his thoughts was just going to eat him up alive.
Sage came back after a few minutes, holding a duffel bag that looked pretty full in her hands-didn't necessarily look heavy but just full. Iso looked at it curiously when the healer came back. "I nearly forgot, this was for you. Seeing as you're in recovery I think you might want this." She said, she was still having a soft voice as she spoke despite being tired from the resurrection. She placed the duffle bag on the edge of the medical bed before unzipping it, pulling out the blanket for him.
"a blanket?" He asked, confusion obvious in his tone. He wasn't expecting a blanket of all things, looking at it curiously. "Yes. (Y/n) Hand crocheted it and left it at your door. She didn't know you were off on a mission." Sage said softly, handing him over the note. He was surprised that you even knew how to crochet, but a part of him was slightly bitter that you were now resorting to giving him stuff. It was a mix of feelings he wasn't too sure how to take.
"thank you." he simply said to Sage, his face staying neutral as usual despite the conflict in his head. Sage gave him a polite nod before leaving again, leaving him alone with his thoughts and now a blanket. He didn't unfold it quite yet, just looking at it. After a moment he finally decided to check the note, even if he wanted to tear it up.
'sorry it's not perfect, it's my first one. I just realized I made it in your color palette. I thought maybe you'd like it. -(Y/n).'
It was a relatively simple note, looking like it was rapidly scribbled before being stuck to the bag. He reread it once more before tossing it inside the duffel bag and looking at the blanket once again. He was still resentful, but he was a bit touched that the first time you craft a blanket you decide to give it to him.
Finally after a moment he unfolded it, feeling the soft yarn under his hands as he looked at the colors-it was only two colors but it did resemble the hoodies he wore pretty often. They would only be missing a touch of red and it would practically be the same palette.
