(this rant is for you jk ily) alright so for those who don't know I'm in marching band. recently, we've had band camp. and ya know we live in the south so it's like super hot right now, and we're outside. so like girls wear tank tops and shorty and cut out tees and all, because it's like super hot. on the last day we were moving things outside and when everyone came back inside, several guys had their shirts off. so naturally most girls are like !!! bro if we can't take shirts off neither can you !!! but no adults said anything. right before dismissal, the lady in charge of our color guard tells us that we need to stop wearing tank tops and cut out tees or anything that makes our bra straps/sides visible. she also informed us that we can't wear super tight or short shorts, because "there are others here too" like what. so guys can walk around without shirts and it's totally fine, but we can't even have bra straps showing??? nobody will care if you can see the side of a bra or if the shorts are tight. if they do, they have problems because they are sexualizing teenage girls and that's gross. I mean I personally know I'm not gonna change everything so a tiny strap won't show??? girls wear bras??? get over it???
