Estelle never did enjoy relying on anyone else. Always one for saving herself, protecting herself. However, at that moment, her only thought was that someone else figured out she was missing and helped her. Had she known what The Doctor and Rose were dealing with at the time, she would have known that they had already noticed her disappearance, were extremely concerned but simply could not take the time to go and find her while dealing with severely diseases zombie/human test subjects.
But, she didn't know that. She was left to think she was all alone. Just as she had always been.
Estelle's mind raced, attempting to come up with any idea or plan that could get her out of the mess she had somehow ended up in. Thinking back on it, she wasn't entirely sure how she had even ended up in such a situation. Only hours earlier, she had been having a regular day at work. Psychic paper, she thought. This was all happening because of something he called fucking psychic paper. What does that even mean?
She tried not to dwell. Tried to focus on something else. However, in a pure white room, restrained to a hospital bed and her only company being two severely deranged cat nun nurses, what else did she actually have to concentrate on.
The nurses had been trying to speak to her for a while, smiling in a way that was so disconcerting she had no idea what to make of it. They appeared nice enough, if you disregarded the whole kidnapping and strapping to a table thing.
"Our sensors picked up some severe symptoms during your disinfection process, you are here for treatment before you are allowed any further into the hospital. Do you understand?" One of the cat nurses questioned, leaning over Estelle to look into her eyes. She had finally managed to calm herself down slightly, the realisation that panicking would get her nowhere hitting her after a few minutes and was able to actually listen to what they had been saying to her.
Concern spiked in her mind. She wasn't ill, she had no idea what symptoms they were talking about and remembering the earlier conversation about advanced viruses she had with The Doctor set her on edge.
"What do you mean symptoms? There's nothing wrong with me." Estelle claimed, desperate to understand what was going on. Going off the little information she had, she had sort of concluded that there must have been a mistake and she had been confused for someone else.
"You're correct dear, there is nothing physically wrong with you. It's the mental symptoms our scanners picked up that we are here to treat." The nurse assured her, as if that was a more comforting alternative.
Estelle was aware that her mental state was not exactly pristine. After all, she had been haunted by images and dreams of things physically impossible since her childhood, resulting in some not so healthy behaviours. But there was nothing so drastic that she deserved to be hauled away from her companions and locked in a room of a hospital she had no idea existed inside a world she had no idea existed.
Attempting to conceal the surging panic she was experiencing, Estelle took a deep breath. Slow and measured. Nothing good would come from a panic attack while strapped to a table with cat nun nurses who already thought she was experiencing a mental breakdown.
"What's wrong with me then? And what are you going to do to me?" Estelle's aim was to stall. Figure out as much information as possible while either waiting for The Doctor, or coming up with a way to get herself out of the situation.
"For now, some tests will be done. We'll discover the extent of what we are dealing with and then follow up with a treatment plan. All goes well and you should be out of here within the week, dear. No need to worry."
Concealing a scoff, Estelle laughed inside her head. Telling her not to worry after also informing her she'd be stuck there for a week. Fantastic.
The nurses didn't speak much more after that. One left the room, swiping her hand or paw over a sensor to open the sliding door. A light flicked green and a distant buzz followed before the door slid open and slammed closed behind her, light returning to red.
