Eighteen
When I was little, I thought it was amazing to be eighteen
I'd finally have the things I wanna buy
The things that I wanna have
Freedom and the life of a teen
But my life isn't a fantasy
Or a scene from a movie
I know it won't be easy
To be rich and reach my dreams immediately
But I wonder what life has to offer?
I'm excited for that to discoverI will go to college
I will finally face my fear
I will fight the urge to have a boyfriend
And maybe even have my life twist and turns
But I sure will graduate
And have a job, oh my gosh, a job!
Then I will work nonstop
Until I reach my dreams of being rich
To have a house and a loving husband
Oops, I'm overthinking again
Is this the life of eighteen?
Overthinking and planning everything
And being a failure is not their thingI'm scared but I can't wait
To step into this new stage of my life
To face and fight the dark side
To sit with discomfort and learn from it
So this is how it feels like to be eighteen
It's scary yet so exciting
Life is unpredictable
But I can write my own
It's a lot of pressure
But I'm a young adult now
I'll endure whatever comes as I mature and grow
I will handle it like a piece of cake
Because I'm eighteen and I like to make
