As soon as Ruhanika headed towards the washroom, Shivendra arrived.
His face was etched with concern, lines of worry deepening with every step.
"What happened? Why did you call me?" Shivendra asked anxiously, eyes scanning Virendra from head to toe, searching for any sign of injury or distress.
But all he found were Virendra's tense eyes. His face might have been composed, unreadable to most, but not to Shivendra.
He had raised him, he could see through the mask his son wore.
Virendra let out a frustrated sigh, dragging a hand through his hair as he fought to keep his rage in check.
"The site... it was bombed," he muttered, jaw clenched, fists tighter.
Shivendra's eyes widened in disbelief. For a moment, a flash of something maybe fear, memory, or both crossed his face.
"Bomb?" he whispered, the word stumbling off his lips as his legs threatened to give way.
Virendra immediately reached out, steadying his father before quickly guiding him out of the party hall, away from prying eyes and into the privacy they desperately needed.
"How did this happen, Virendra?" Shivendra demanded, his voice low but trembling with rage.
His face twisted with a mixture of fear and fury as they stood alone in the private family room, the party's noise now a distant echo.
"There were bombs planted at our construction site, the site where our project was underway it exploded just a few minutes ago." Virendra said grimly, his voice cold.
He paused, his eyes flickering with pain, shoulders tense.
Then, in a quieter, almost haunted voice, he added, "To be precise... at 20:29." he whispered.
Shivendra's breath hitched. That made something in him freeze. His fists clenched at his sides, knuckles turning white as his jaw locked tightly.
"Who?" he asked. One word yet it was heavy and sharp. So filled with intensity that even Virendra felt a chill run down his spine.
"Shekhawats" Virendra spat, his voice laced with raw fury.
Shivendra's eyes burned with a fire that hadn't been seen in years. But this wasn't just anger it was something darker.
Deeper.
As if that name didn't just ignite rage, it reopened old wounds. His entire being seemed to tremble, not with fear, but with the kind of wrath that only comes from betrayal soaked in blood.
"I will fucking kill these people!" A voice thundered through the room, making both Shivendra and Virendra snap their heads toward the source.
They were shocked to see the owner of the voice.
Vidisha.
"Badi Ma..." Virendra whispered, his throat tightening as he watched her stand there, her eyes burning with a fierce fury that shook even him.
