Cherry hesitates. Taken completely off guard by his rejection. Ryan on the other hand glares at him.

???:
I'm sorry . . .

The mysterious new guy turns and walks away, leaving a cold breeze behind.

Ryan:
Ugh, rude! What's up withhim?

Cherry looks down in disappointed and a new found insecurity. Ryan turns to Cherry and carefully places his hand on his shoulder.

Ryan:
Eh, ignore him. He's probably some entitled the rich kid who was born sucking on a silver pacifier. You don't need him. You have me!

I shake my head lightly and turn to Ryan.

Cherry:
Yeah, you're probably right . . . Welp, at least I tried, right?

Ryan:
That's the spirit! So glad you're over that nobody already!

Cherry:
Yeah!

Ryan walks with Cherry to their next class. Which was coincidentally in the same class as the new guy. Ryan and Cherry freeze. Ryan sighs in annoyance while I sigh in defeat.

Cherry:
Just my luck . . . I have to sit near him too . . .

Ryan takes a deep breath.

Ryan:
You can do this! You only have him in two classes, right? Can't be that bad.

Cherry:
I guess two out of seven is better then, well, seven.

Ryan:
Yeah! Just pretend he doesn't even exist! You've got this!

After his words of encouragement. Cherry walks to his seat and does just as he says. Pretends as if he wasn't even there. The plan works and Cherry is able to get his mind off everything as he finishes his work and doodles in his notebook. After what felt like ages, the bell rings signaling lunch break. Ryan immediately rushes towards Cherry.

Ryan: So! What'd you make for lunch this time!

Cherry:
Your only saying that because you want to taste a bit of everything, don't you.

Ryan:
Whaaaaaat?? Noooooooooo . . . Yes.

Cherry:
I knew it!

Ryan:
Oh, come oooon! Please! Your cooking has gotten so much better over the years! And you've always let me try it!

Cherry:
Fine, fine. Just remember the chew.

Cherry and Ryan laugh as Cherry reaches for his backpack hanging on his chair behind him. He twists his torso and opens his backpack making a loud zipping sound. He reaches in and grabs his bento box.

Ryan:
Still wonder why you don't just use a topper and stuff all your food in it.

Cherry:
Bento boxes keep your meal organized. And prevents unwanted flavors from mixing with eachother.

Ryan:
Riiiight. FOOD TIME!

Cherry playfully rolls his eyes and opens the bento box to reveal honey sesame chicken breast. Along with some vegetables and white rice.

Ryan:
That looks amazing!!! Sigh, how do you do it, man!

Cherry:
Did you just say sigh?

Ryan:
Not important! GIIIIVE!!!

Cherry snickers and gives Ryan his plastic fork. Ryan takes the fork enthusiastically and starts taking one bite of everything.

Ryan:
Yummy! Dude. You should become a chef. This food is amazing!

Cherry scratches the back of ho neck nervously.

Cherry:
Thanks, but . . . You say that all the time.

Ryan:
Just shows how much I mean it!

Cherry gives in and leaves Ryan with his weird but fair logic while also getting a bit flustered by the compliments.

Ryan:
Mmm! I swear I feel like my mouth is having an org-

Cherry:
Don't even think about finishing that sentence . . .

Ryan:
Hehe . . . Right.

Ryan hands Cherry his plastic fork and watches as he eats. Before taking out his own boring lunch. As Cherry ate, he couldn't help but notice the new guy still sitting as his table, alone, eating his own lunch as well. Cherry wonders if he should go and try to talk to him again . . .

(I'll be "To be continuing" it right here for now. Just so people have a good idea of what the story will look like. Comment on if Cherry should try to talk the new guy again.)
