You don't remember what his answer to you was.

You tilt your head. "What do you mean?"

The boy smiles at your question, his eyes disappearing as he does. Tiny stardust particles dance on the edges of his eyes, and you feel yourself leaning closer to touch them. He shakes his head again, and you nod lazily.

Your movements get slower, as if the underwater feeling is restricting them. Your nails aren't green anymore. They're pink. You close your eyes, a slow grin forming on your lips.

The stranger starts humming again, and the bubble starts tearing from the top. The bubble still rocks you both, and you find yourself inhaling the smell of the peaches. Your fingers tighten around his, and you listen to his breathy laughter.

It echoes around you, the sound waves mixing with the purple swirls. Your mind seems to be wrapped around it, the images of the hexagons dimming.

You gasp when the bubble bursts and showers you both in blue. All the peachy scent gets concentrated in the stranger's body. You find yourself hypnotized by the smell, the guitar getting more audible now. The blue vanishes from around you within moments, your irises feeling fuzzier.

He gets quieter; his face more visible; his presence more familiar. He hums again, lower now, and you can hear the undertones of your own voice in his. He smiles again, his palm leaving yours.

You look around, watching the colors swirl inside each other. A cloud of violet swirls around the dark blue, seeming to absorb it. You tilt your head. The blue seems to be disappearing more and more from your sight.

The boy turns around again, a lucid image of his face in front of you. If only your eyes weren't swirling with pink, you'd see him. Your hands reach out to him again, and this time, he doesn't shake his head. His fingers enclose yours, and he places your hand on his chest.

You don't hear a heartbeat. You don't feel the warmth of skin. You don't feel anything.

Yet, you can't let go.

You whisper, "I've seen you before." Though, your mouth barely moves.

He leans in, pressing your forehead gently with his. Your lashes flutter, and your fingers twitch. The color of your nails shifts again, a glowing white taking over the pink.

"You never left," he murmurs—though you don't know if it's his voice or yours.

He's still smiling when you feel his body turning to light and smoke before your eyes. Your eyes widen, your body lacking any sensation when he melts into you. It's as if your skin is absorbing him like the clouds above you.

A gasp leaves your lips, your eyelids feeling heavier. You stumble on your feet, eyes frantically searching for the boy. Your gaze drifts to your hands—they're covered in purple glitter.

Tiny stardust particles float around your upper body, your irises turning white—before all you can see is gray. A clash of pink behind your eyes, and you're smiling again.

A lazy grin curls on your lips, and you hop on the light below you. You close your eyes, your body oscillating as if it has a mind of its own. You don't feel the numbness in your skin anymore—it feels cooler now.

You body feels lightweight, your brain a canvas of colors, and the only sound you can hear is the faint guitar and violin. Your feet make you wander aimlessly, the smile never leaving your lips. Maybe you really never left, like he said—you just came back home.

You don't remember how you got here, only that you never want to leave.

A wave of feeling washes over you—intense enough to make you gasp and clutch your head. Your knuckles press against your gray eyes, and they're swept with pink too now. No tears this time. A mess of pink and purple configures around your eyes, but your mind is too caught up in the newfound feeling. One you never want to let go of.
