"I'm so sorry, Priestess. Usually Saturdays are nice and we all we're a family really. It usually isn't like this."
Pomelia was embarrassed. She sat outside on the porch with the woman who was like a mother or well no she was too young to call that. A woman who was like a big sister to her.
Priestess Arana was the epitome of elegance and strength. Everything that the goddess embodied. Pomelia fell severely short in the values that the goddess wanted not only holy peoples but Lunas to exhibit. Standing next to Priestess Arana and seeing the scene unfold yesterday at dinner just gave way of how...unprepared Pomelia was for all of this.
Pom even went so far as to avoiding not only Priestess Arana but the rest of the holy peoples living with them today. She was so ashamed at how everything turned out yesterday she avoided her home at all costs. Which made her a worse Luna, not even giving her guests a correct tour!
"Pomelia, I have had many talks with Trent. Even if he was in the best pack I feel like that scene would be unavoidable. Don't be so hard on yourself, okay?" Priestess Arana's soft smile immediately made Pomelia begin to break.
"I-I'm a terrible Luna," She whispered as tears began to slip down her cheeks. She couldn't even look at Priestess Arana. She looked out at the dark sky, the large moon looming over them, making her feel suffocated. Watched. The goddess was looking down, disappointed in her.
Pom could hear the sound of a few pack members approaching and tried to wipe at her tears as quickly as possible. She didn't want to feel even more incapable by seeing her pack members witness her breaking and crying! Arana grabbed her hand and pulled her into the Alpha house. Pomelia couldn't even see straight from the tears as her mentor grabbed her by the wrist and lead her around in her own home!
She heard a door close and then realized she has brought her into a sitting room on the first floor. Right next to Warren's office. She hoped he wasn't in there...
"Can you control the actions of one wolf? Let alone a pack?"
She sniffled. "Well no I can't but I should be able to handle one. I try so hard a-and everyone is so nice for the most part but I'm not strong enough. I need to be more like you. I should-"
Pomelia was cut off by Priestess Arana's hand going up in the air as to silence Pomelia. She gulped. "You aren't supposed to act like anyone but yourself. Do you hear me? Don't act like me, your mother or any other person. You're Pomelia freakin Grace. A woman with a beautiful and caring heart. Okay?"
Now tears were really pouring. Pom didn't realize how tense she was until she was hugged by Priestess Arana. She held her tightly, crying into her shoulder.
She thought she was okay. She thought she could do this Luna thing. She thought she could host her holy brother and sisters...but the moment she saw the novices is when she began to get bothered.
Pomelia was happy with her mate in a nice pack home...or what she made home when Sera, her old roommate, someone who was like a sister to her was kidnapped. Kidnapped and being abused by awful wolves. Not only was Sera gone but a while host of other novices and sisters... While she was cozy and safe her sisters were in danger...
"What...Pomelia? What's wrong?"
She tensed as she heard Warren's deep voice. Her large mate took up most of the door frame. He looked ready to charge, his glacier like eyes assessing the situation quickly. Or at least trying to.
They hadn't talked at all yesterday after the fiasco with Trent. As a matter of fact, Pomelia hadn't seen her mate all day. She had seen glimpses of him but that was it. Even at dinner he was with the men.
