"What's is this for." She says, pain evident in her voice.
"You lost blood, this injection will bring back your iron up along with energy." I say pushing the thick medicine inside carefully.
The injection was still halfway to go through.
Both of us were silent for the next minute, I completed the injection and pulled it out.
I tried to be as gentle as possible.
Gently massaging the area, and left the cotton as it is, I disposed the other injection in the bin.
She immediately woke up as I come back.
"You got afraid or what that I will give you another shot." I say chuckling at the way she got up so speed.

Getting up was necessary.
Who knew his plans, he gave me 2 injections instead of 1.
That too on both my sides.
I had never got injections in this way earlier.
This 2nd injection was so painful.
It was still stinging.
I can't even rub or massage in front of him.
"You can apply cold pack at the sight after half an hour if it stings. It will give you relief. "
He gave me a painkiller shot so that i don't feel pain. If the injection site only pains, then what's the use.
I was slightly disappointed with the idea of painkiller injection.
"The painkiller shot won't pain. I am talking about the iron shot. " He says understanding my inner voice.
"Ok. Got it. Please don't tell Anika that you gave me 2 shots." I say as he searched his bag to find something.
"Sure."
I take painkiller tablets for 2 days. This injection effectiveness won't last for tomorrow.
Then what's in line for tomorrow for me.
One more injection 💉?
Fingers crossed.
"Kiara, if you don't mind. Can I check your vitals?" He says showing me his stethoscope.
"Yes, Sure. "
I don't have any issue with this.
He came and sat near me.
"Just relax and lie down."
The earpieces of the stethoscope were in his ears ad his other hand went inside my top.
"Take deep breaths." He says keeping the cold metal at a spot on my chest.
I kept taking deep breaths while he moved the stethoscope at several spots of my chest.
He checked my breathing too by listening to my back.
Checking my vitals as if I am a kid.
I am an adult.
"Anika, you can come in. All done." He says pulling it out.
His phone rings while Anika comes in.
"Aarav, that's wonderful news." He speaks to Aarav as Anika raises eyebrows looking at me.
"Is it paining?"
"Yes."
We both get disturbed by his talking.
