Scarlett and Caroline were at Bill Forbes' lake house.
"If you really think about it, Jeremy leaving is for the best. He's going to go to art school, and Elizabeth is going to stay here to look after our mom and then when she's ready, she and the twins will join Jeremy. But I know my sister, and there's a good chance that she'll make up every excuse under the sun to stay here a bit longer." Caroline rambled on.
"Do you think you packed enough?" Scarlett changed the subject.
"The whole point of this is for my mom to live out the rest of her time here in a relaxed and peaceful environment surrounded by the things that she loves, like photo albums and board games." Caroline said.
"'The anthology of Shakespeare,' volumes one through 12." Scarlett read a book title aloud.
"All the books that she's never gotten around to reading." Caroline shrugged.
"Okay, put me to work, Queen Caroline." Scarlett grinned. "Should we start with light or heavy boxes?"

Walking out of the Grill, Samara's eyes narrowed once she saw some kid holding a joint nearby. But she then smirked once she realised that the 'kid' was none other than Jeremy. Samara slowly approached him, coming up silently behind her brother.
"You know I'm a vampire, right?" At her voice, Jeremy glanced back, startled. "A big sister with nearly perfect senses who can sneak up on you without making a sound. Really sucks for you." Samara held her hand out for Jeremy to hand her the joint. "You're a father, Jeremy. Give it."
"Damon gave it to me, and technically, it's from Ric's girlfriend's stash." Jeremy spoke. "It's not like I'm smoking it right next to the twins, and I won't go home until the smell is gone."
"Well, Damon is an idiot, and Alaric conveniently disappeared. So I can only yell at you." Samara shrugged nonchalantly.
"Yeah. Ric left. He was worried someone might recognize him when he's supposed to be dead." Jeremy mentioned, and Samara nodded in realisation.
"Right. That hadn't occurred to me. Our lives are so weird."
"That's the understatement of the century."
"Give me your lighter." Samara held out her hand.
"What, really?" Jeremy scoffed in disbelief.
"Yes." Samara nodded, sitting down beside her brother. "I just decided that me smoking a joint with my little brother might be the most normal thing that we've done together in years. Just... don't tell Elena! She will literally--"
"I will literally what?" A voice cut in. Both Samara and Jeremy glanced over to see none other than Elena.
"Busted..." Jeremy whispered to Samara, who sighed.
"Lena! This... isn't what it looks like."
"Really? Because it looks like my sister is leading our brother down the wrong path. You're supposed to be his role model, Sammie!" Elena scolded.
"Well, since being a role model has now gone down the drain..." Samara held up the joint to Elena. "Feel free to join us."
So, slightly reluctantly, Elena did eventually give in and take a seat on the other side of Jeremy.

"Look what I found!" Caroline walked over to Scarlett, who stood on the porch of the cabin. The blonde was pushing a small bike along beside her.
