Chapter 30: The Nightmare Loop Begins
Jake’s POV
Okay.
Okay.
This has to be a prank, right?
Like, some sick, twisted prank from a bunch of drama-loving demons—or worse—those four deranged chaos monsters we still don’t even fully know.
Because when I opened my eyes the next morning, expecting to see the soft lavender curtains of our new, peaceful, non-haunted Room 2A…
…I saw the broken doorknob of 3C staring at me again.
“What the—NO.”
I sat up in bed so fast, I nearly threw my back out.
Jungwon shot up from his bed with a yelp. “WHERE ARE WE?!”
Sunoo was already halfway falling off the bed. “I SWEAR I SLEPT IN A LAVENDER-SCENTED BUBBLE YESTERDAY. WHAT HAPPENED?!”
The room was the same cursed disaster zone.
> Peeling wallpaper? Check.
Creepy mirror? Check.
Whispering tap? Double check.
That godforsaken ouija board in the corner? Back in place like it never left. There was even a new sticky note stuck on the wall near the door, written in that eerie looping script again:
> “Welcome home, 3C. You really thought you could leave?”
I screamed internally.
“What do they want from us?! A BLOOD SACRIFICE?!” Sunoo wailed.
“We moved. We signed forms. We filled paperwork!” Jungwon said like he was pleading his case in court.
I marched to the door and tried opening it.
Locked.
From the outside.
“Oh we’re not just haunted—we’re imprisoned,” I muttered.
Sunoo curled up on his bed. “I knew it. I knew we were cursed. This is how horror movies start. And then we become part of the school’s ghost tour.”
“Next thing you know,” Jungwon said dramatically, “they’ll take our souls and assign us to clean the toilets in the afterlife.”
I was too tired for this. “I swear if another glowing message appears in this mirror, I’m throwing it out the window.”
Cue the mirror fogging up again.
> “Try it, Jake. We dare you.”
I deadpan stared at it. “Okay. What’s next? Floating furniture? Spontaneous haunting karaoke?”
CRASH.
The beds shook violently.
The ouija board flipped itself.
The tap turned on and started pouring black ink.
And just when we thought it couldn’t get worse… a music box started playing on its own. From under the floorboards.
Sunoo fainted. Again.
I sat on the floor, utterly done with life. “We should’ve gone to a public school.”
