Drip. Drip. Drip.
Kaito Ren's eyes snapped open
The ceiling above him was cracked, water, leaking from a rusted pipe. The air was damp and cold. Concrete walls stretched around him, gray, stained, unfamiliar. He sat up quickly, heart pounding.
This wasn't his apartment.
This wasn't anywhere he remembered.
His clothes were the same : Black jacket, Silver chain, Scuffed boots. But his phone? Dead. No signal. No time. just a blinking screen mounted on the far wall.
[GAME STARTS IN: 04:58]
He staggered to his feet. "What the hell...?"
A loud metal clang echoed through the space. A door slammed open.
A girl stumbled inside, limping - blood on her knee, a long scratch down her cheek. She was gripping a metal pipe like it was a sword. Her breathing was sharp and furious.
"Don't come near me," she snapped.
Kaito raised his hands, calm. "Wasn't planning to."
They stared at each other - tense, guarded. Then the screen on the wall changed.
GAME: MIRROR MAZE
PLAYERS: 2
TIME LIMIT: 15 MINUTES
GOAL: FIND THE REAL EXIT. ONE IS REAL. THREE ARE TRAPS. YOU WILL ONLY SEE YOUSELVES.
PENALTY: TIME EXPIRED= DEATH
Kaito's pulse slowed. His mind sped up.
"Classic bait. Time pressure, limited info, fear factor. A logic trap," he muttered.
The girl narrowed her eyes. "What are you? A gamer?"
"No, worse." He tilted his head. "A realist."
A low buzzing noice filled the room. The floors began to shift - walls slid open to reveal a corridor of mirrors, endless and wraped. Reflections everywhere. Dozens of versions of them. Some accurate. Some...wrong.
"I'm Aya," she said suddenly, without looking at him.
"Kaito"
Another glance at the timer: [14:06]
Together, they stepped into the maze.
The mirrors reflected not just their bodies - but flashes of memories. Regrets. Traumas. Kaito saw his younger self, alone in a hospital hallway. Aya saw a grave with no name.
The first wrong turn, the floor almost collapsed beneath them.
"You go that way," Kaito said, pointing left.
"I'll go right. If we split, we double our odds."
"And if we get it wrong?"
"We die."
She smiled faintly. "Perfect."

Timer: [03:21]
A scream echoed through the maze.
Kaito turned, running blindly - mirrors splintering around him as something chased from behind. Shadows moving with no source. Voices whispering lies.
Then- he saw her
Kaito arrived just as she pointed. "That one. I saw something. A flicker, behind that mirror."
He didn't ask questions. Just ran with her. The door slammed shut behind them.
Silence.
[GAME CLEARED]
A new screen appeared above the exit.
PLAYER STATUS: SURVIVED
PRIZE: 3-DAY VISA
NEXT GAME: UNKNOWN
LOCATION: REVEALED
Kaito looked at her. "Visa?"
She shrugged. "Sounds like we just bought time."
Outside the building, The city was empty. Silent. Not destroyed - but frozen. Cars without drivers. Lights without people.
A strange new world. And they were not alone.
