Warning: Mild adult scene (Mild according to me, don't call me out yeah?)
***The fluorescent lights hummed overhead in the sterile corridor of the medical wing, casting harsh shadows that made the pale green walls appear even more institutional. Dr. Neha Patel walked briskly toward the supply room, her white coat billowing behind her as she checked her watch for the third time in as many minutes. The afternoon shift had been particularly demanding, with two emergency surgeries and a complicated pediatric case that had required her undivided attention for hours.
Her mind was occupied with patient charts and medication schedules when a strong hand suddenly wrapped around her wrist, yanking her sideways into the supply closet with such swift precision that she barely had time to gasp. The door clicked shut behind her, plunging them into the dim amber glow of the single overhead bulb that illuminated boxes of medical supplies stacked from floor to ceiling.
"What the hell do you think you're-" Neha's indignant protest died on her lips as she found herself face to face with Captain Vikram Singh, his dark eyes sparkling with mischief and something far more dangerous. He stood mere inches away from her, his broad shoulders blocking any hope of escape, while his characteristic smirk played at the corners of his mouth.
"Hello, beautiful," Vikram murmured, his voice dropping to that low, husky tone that never failed to make her pulse quicken despite her best efforts to remain unaffected. "Miss me?"
Neha straightened her spine, attempting to project the professional authority that had served her well in the pediatric ward, though she could feel her resolve already beginning to waver under the intensity of his gaze. "Captain Singh, this is highly inappropriate behavior. I'm on duty, and I have responsibilities to my patients that don't include being manhandled into supply closets by overgrown soldiers with boundary issues."
Vikram's laugh was rich and warm, filling the small space between them as he took a deliberate step closer, forcing Neha to press her back against the shelving unit behind her. Medical supplies rattled softly as her weight shifted against the metal framework, but she refused to show any sign of retreat or submission.
"Boundary issues?" Vikram repeated, raising an eyebrow in mock offense while his hands came to rest on either side of her waist, effectively caging her between his arms and the shelving. "That's a harsh accusation from someone who was giving me very encouraging signals during rounds this morning."
"I was being professional," Neha protested, though her voice had lost some of its earlier conviction. The scent of his cologne mixed with something uniquely masculine seemed to fill her senses, making it increasingly difficult to maintain her composure. "Unlike certain military personnel who seem incapable of maintaining appropriate workplace conduct."
"Professional," Vikram mused, his fingers tracing the fabric of her coat with feather-light touches that sent shivers down her spine. "Is that what we're calling the way you looked at me when I walked into the pediatric ward? Because from where I was standing, that expression was anything but professional."
Neha lifted her chin defiantly, meeting his gaze with all the determination she could muster. "You're imagining things, Captain. And even if you weren't, it's completely irrelevant because I have a boyfriend now." The words came out more breathlessly than she had intended, undermining the authority she was trying to project.
Vikram's expression shifted slightly, his smirk taking on a predatory quality that made her stomach flutter with nervous anticipation. "A boyfriend?" he repeated, his voice taking on a silky quality that made her pulse race. "How fascinating. Tell me about this mysterious boyfriend of yours."
