The air was tense in Shreya's house.
Sidharth had suspected daya & shreya's closeness. He decided to shame her in front of her family if thats true.

Her mother's cough echoed from the bedroom as Sid's sharp voice pierced through the hall. "Tell me the truth, Shreya. You and Daya—what's going on?"

Shreya froze. Her father stiffened on the sofa, trying to sip his tea as if nothing had been said. Her mother, alarmed, looked up from her prescription medicines. "What is he saying, beta?"

Sid stood, arms crossed, eyes narrowed. "You keep avoiding me. There's something in your eyes when he's around. You think I'm blind?"

Shreya looked at her parents—her mother's frail hands trembling, her father's weary eyes silently begging her to deny it. And so, she did.

"It's nothing. Please don't create drama."

"Nothing?" Sid laughed, shaking his head. "Then why do you flinch when I touch you? Why is Daya always around you? You two—"

"Stop it, Sid." Her voice cracked. "There's nothing."

But the lie sat like acid on her tongue.

That weekend, Sid sent out grand dinner invitations—to everyone at CID.

"Dinner's on me!" he said cheerfully. "Let's celebrate the upcoming wedding!"

Daya received the invite with a tight jaw and colder eyes. He didn't want to go, but Abhijeet nudged him. "If he suspects something, better we stay close and keep an eye."

At the restaurant, a private section was reserved. It was all warm lighting and artificial laughter. Sid played the host perfectly—offering wine, cracking jokes, complimenting the women.

But he kept Shreya away from Daya. Every time Daya tried to speak to her, Sid swooped in with a hand on her lower back, guiding her elsewhere. With every subtle touch, Daya's fists clenched tighter.

Shreya avoided eye contact.

But Daya's eyes were fixed on Sid. Watching. Boiling.

Then it happened.

After dessert, Sid excused himself and pulled Shreya aside, under the pretense of helping her with something in the car.

They stepped into the dim parking area, and he cornered her between two cars. "Why are you cold with me? Is it because of him?" His hand gripped her wrist tightly.

"Sid, you're hurting me," Shreya whispered.

"I'm your fiancé! I can touch you however I want!"

"You're drunk!" she snapped, trying to pull away.

That's when Daya appeared.

He had followed. Always did when Shreya was out of his sight these days.

For a moment, he stood frozen, seeing Sid holding her like that. And then something inside him snapped.

In two strides, he reached them. His hand grabbed Sid's collar and slammed him against the car.

"You dare touch her again—I'll break your hands!" Daya growled.

Sid laughed bitterly, "So it's true. You two—behind everyone's back!"

Daya didn't even answer. He looked at Shreya—her wrist red, her eyes brimming.

He stepped forward and held her hand. Right there. In front of everyone who had rushed out after hearing the commotion.

In front of her parents. CID. Sid.

He cupped her cheek and asked softly, "Are you okay?"

She nodded, crying.

Sid spat, "You've ruined her. She was mine."

Daya turned slowly. His voice like cold steel: "She was never yours. She's not a trophy. She's a person. And if anyone here has ruined her... it's people like you."

Abhijeet stepped between them. So did Freddy and Purvi. But the silence that followed was louder than any scream.

Daya didn't care anymore.

He looked around—at the horrified faces, at the shame in her parents' eyes, at the disbelief in Sid's face.

And then he pulled Shreya into his arms. Hugged her tight.

"I love her," he said out loud. "And I'll never hide that again."

Shreya sobbed into his chest.

For a moment, she felt the shame vanish. For a moment, the burden of secrets lifted.

But the storm was far from over.
