A university is a big educational institution that grants degrees and oversees many colleges. Just like there are many universities in the world, there was a university called Wanbala University in Wanbala City. Wanbala University was a large and vibrant place where students used to come for higher education after school. It had a big campus with 6 buildings – Building A, B, C, D, E, F. There were open green spaces, trees, and walking paths. The atmosphere was full of energy – students attending classes, some studying in the library, and some relaxing with friends. The classrooms were spacious and equipped with projectors, whiteboards, and comfortable seating arrangements. In Building A, the ground floor had 7 classrooms for specially-abled students, the first floor had 8 classrooms and a well-equipped science lab, where students used to do practical work and experiments. The second floor too had 8 classrooms and a spacious library, which had comfortable seating arrangements and was filled with books, journals, and digital resources. In Building B, there was a canteen on the ground floor, another lively area where students used to eat meals and spend time together. For sports and fitness, there was a big ground at the backside. In Building C, there were 4 administrative offices that handled admissions, exams, and other important work. Building D was for the students of the Arts stream, Building E for the Commerce stream and Building F for the Science stream. The First Semester exam of the Arts stream was scheduled for next week. There were 20 colleges under Wanbala University and thousands of students were preparing for their exams. Just like other students, Swati Sakhuja and Neelanjana Sakhuja – identical twins – were also preparing for their First Semester exams. Neelanjana was a class topper whereas Swati was a below-average student. Their parents – Mr. Sakhuja and Mrs. Sakhuja – used to often compare Swati with Neelanjana. This used to make Swati feel bad. She started getting jealous of Neelanjana but was never able to beat her in exams.
Once Swati asked Neelanjana why she was not able to score good marks. Neelanjana reminded her that she used to bunk lectures and roam with her friend – Kerry D’sa. Kerry herself used to fail in her exams and she also used to involve Swati in her unwanted activities and waste her time. Neelanjana suggested Swati to stay away from Kerry and make good friends; this would help her score good marks. Swati decided to work hard on her studies.
One day, Swati met Mia Malik in the college canteen. They both had coincidentally ordered cheese sandwiches and occupied the same table. The students of the Arts stream were given ID cards with blue strips. They noticed their ID cards and realized that they both were from the Arts stream but had never met before. Swati became friends with Mia. Mia was one of the class toppers whereas Swati was more active in cultural activities. Swati started taking help from Mia in her studies so that she could score more than Neelanjana. Neelanjana, Mia, and Swati were in the same class. Mia was surprised to know that Swati was Neelanjana’s sister. Neelanjana and Mia ranked amongst the class toppers. Everyone, including Mia, knew Neelanjana but no one knew that Swati was Neelanjana’s sister. Mia wanted to become a teacher and she used to enjoy teaching Swati. They often studied in the library. Kerry D’sa noticed that Swati had started taking her studies seriously and had almost stopped bunking lectures.
After a few days, Kerry D’sa offered Swati to bunk her History lecture and join her in watching a latest movie. Swati refused in an instant. Kerry asked her what had changed her so much because she used to bunk lectures with her till last year and they used to have fun together, but in recent days she had changed completely.
Swati told her that she couldn’t focus on her studies because she wasted a lot of time with her in bunking lectures, having food in the canteen, watching movies, and bullying their juniors, so she had made a decision to stay away from her and focus on her studies. Kerry felt bad and left without saying anything. She got hurt by the words of her friend – Swati. Mia’s sudden presence in their life had spoiled the friendship of Swati and Kerry.
The next morning, Mia and Swati were studying in the library. Kerry entered furiously. She told Mia that she had snatched her best friend – Swati – from her. Kerry looked at Swati and told her that even she had never scored good marks just like her. They both were friends because they both had the same taste – hate for studies and love for having fun in college. Kerry felt bad when Swati blamed their friendship for her low grades. She challenged Swati and Mia that she would prove her worth by ranking amongst the class toppers in the First Semester exam.
Kerry D’sa met one of her seniors – Kuljeet Rai – who was a class topper for the last 2 years. Kuljeet realized that Kerry wanted to prove her worth by ranking amongst the class toppers in the upcoming exam. He understood how Kerry was feeling and how important it was for her to score good marks. He revealed his secret – that he wasn’t an ethical student; he too had cheated the college to rank amongst the class toppers. Kuljeet took Kerry D’sa to Indresh Gattani – the owner of Gattani Printing Press. Indresh Gattani used to illegally sell the exam question papers of their college. No one knew from where he got the papers but there were students who used to buy exam papers from him. Kerry visited the Gattani Printing Press with Kuljeet. Kuljeet ensured Indresh that Kerry was his friend and she wouldn’t reveal his secret to anyone. Indresh agreed to help Kerry by selling the First Semester exam papers. Kerry purchased the exam question papers from Indresh for 10,000 rupees, spending all her savings. Indresh was sure that she would definitely top in the upcoming First Semester exams.
The First Semester exam took place as per the schedule and surprisingly, Kerry broke all the previous records and stood first in the class. She went to Swati and told her that she should have thought twice before blaming their friendship for her low grades. Swati was not able to believe the truth. Kerry’s name was written amongst the class toppers and her name was at the top. Indresh Gattani used to deal with many students. He had to wait till late at night at his Printing Press in order to make copies of different question papers. Ranbir Thakur, a robber, who was recently released from the Wanbala Jail, noticed that Indresh Gattani used to work alone till late night printing papers in bulk at his Gattani Printing Press. He assumed he must be rich as he used to deal in cash and decided to rob him while he was alone.
A few days later, Kerry D’sa visited the Gattani Printing Press late at night as she had her 2nd Semester exams in two days. Indresh gave her the question papers of the upcoming Second Semester exam and Kerry paid him a large amount of money in cash. Suddenly, Ranbir Thakur reached there. As there was no one on the street, he kept Indresh and Kerry at gunpoint and instructed them to put their expensive wristwatches, chains, mobile phones, ear pods, and wallets in his sack. He had covered his face with a black cloth mask. Kerry and Indresh followed his instructions. Ranbir entered the shop, grabbed all the cash from the cash counter of the printing press, and punched Indresh hard in the face. He threatened them both.
Daksh surprisingly reached there. Ranbir wasn’t prepared to face him. He said, “Come on! Don’t you sleep? I hate you because you always interfere in others’ matters, that’s not good, Daksh.”
Daksh replied, “I do what is right. It’s not unwanted interference, it’s Justice.”
He punched Ranbir hard in the face and banged his head against the showcase. Ranbir screamed out of pain. Kerry and Indresh were feeling relieved when Daksh reached there. Ranbir took out a knife from his jacket and attacked Daksh’s arm with it. Daksh retaliated with a powerful punch in his face. Ranbir got seriously injured. Before he could plan his next move, Daksh punched him in the stomach, grabbed his neck, and banged him against the wall. He said, “Do you really want to mess with me?”
Ranbir replied in a breaking voice, “You are very strong... Very very strong... It’s unbelievable... Never faced an opponent like you.”
Daksh unmasked Ranbir’s face and instructed him to confess his crime. Ranbir confessed that his intention was to rob Kerry and Indresh and all the money in Indresh’s shop, but he had failed terribly even after planning everything. Kerry and Indresh thanked Daksh for saving them from Ranbir. Suddenly, Daksh noticed various copies of university question papers in Indresh’s shop. He felt something was wrong in the shop. He checked the question papers and interrogated Kerry and Indresh. They were trapped. They confessed their crime and offered a bribe to Daksh but Daksh refused to take any bribe. Ranbir too came to know about their secret. He was ready to accept the bribe and keep all the illegal activities of Kerry and Indresh a secret. Daksh scolded Kerry and Indresh and called them cheaters. He was about to call the police.
Kerry and Indresh felt Daksh might expose them so they attacked him. Daksh was shocked. Kerry threw his cellphone aside, which accidentally fell into a nearby gutter, located outside the Printing Press, on the footpath. Indresh punched him hard in the face, Kerry kicked him in the stomach, Indresh ultimately banged his forehead against a showcase in his shop. They together overpowered him, but suddenly Queen Dawn reached there. She grabbed the shirts of Kerry and Indresh, banged them against the wall in the shop, punched their faces, and pushed them aside. They both fell in a corner. Queen Dawn kicked their shoulders twice and said, “Don’t you dare to move, stay there until the police comes.” Kerry and Indresh got seriously injured and Daksh was safe. Daksh thanked Queen Dawn for helping him. He shared everything about Kerry and Indresh with her. He looked at Kerry and said, “Better fail in originality than succeeding at imitation.” Kerry realized that her decision to cheat in exams had spoiled her future.
Senior Inspector Jai and Inspector Hrishikesh reached the spot. They interrogated Kerry and Indresh and came to know that Indresh had connections with Raghubir Verma – a college professor who was in the examination committee and had early access to all the question papers. Raghubir was involved in leaking papers. Senior Inspector Jai arrested Raghubir immediately. Ranbir was put behind bars for his failed robbery attempt.
Kerry, Indresh, and Raghubir were put behind bars for being involved in the college exam paper leak. Kerry exposed Kuljeet Rai who too was put behind bars. “Daksh & Queen Dawn Exposed the Paper Leak” – became the news headline.
The next morning, Shalini Pathak was having breakfast with her parents – Ranjeet Pathak and Prof. Sugandha Pathak. Even while having breakfast, she was thinking – who Daksh is? How does he manage to reach every place where a crime takes place?
On the other hand, Kerry was in jail. She said to herself, “Daksh was right... Better fail in originality than succeeding at imitation... He just said a few words and showed me the mirror... God! I should have never visited Gattani Printing Press... It’s all my fault.”
