She sat down, her gaze fixed on the floor.

And then… after so long, they heard her voice — soft, almost fragile yet steady.

“…No—now you guys don’t feel un-uncomfortable with my presence?”

The words fell like a stone in still water — sending ripples of silence across the room.

No one moved.

No one spoke.

They couldn’t, and they knew it.

She didn’t look at them — her eyes stayed on the ground, her face unreadable.

Yet her pain pressed into the air, heavy and suffocating.

Everyone was only looking at her
with heavy hearts because they knew

They were the ones who caused her pain.
They were the source of all her pain.
Every wound she carried came from them.

But one thing they could say: something had changed in Anya… like something was different.

She nodded to herself.

She reached for her spoon as if nothing had happened—

Everyone sat frozen,

staring at the scene before them as if their minds refused to believe or accept what their eyes had just witnessed.

Yuvraj snapped at Maria. “What the hell—”

Her grip was firm, almost panicked.

Her eyes darted to the plate, then to Anya, then to the others.
“Don’t… d-don’t eat this, beta…”

Abhiraj frowned. “Why?”

Maria’s voice trembled. “…This has lung in it.”

They all knew what that meant.

They had learned about her allergy from her previous medical records.

Anya’s lips curved into a faint, pained smile. “Hmm…”

And Abhimanyu asked Maria, “You knew about her before us, then why the hell did you add that?” His voice carried a little dismay and anger.

Maria became tense and tried to explain herself. “Sir… it’s—s… sir, it’s not like—”
