Luna sat on the edge of the couch, laptop open in front of her. MJ’s fingers tapped lazily against the keys, but his eyes weren’t on the screen anymore — they were on her.
“Kaizer Watson,” he began, voice flat, almost detached. “Became CEO of Watson Enterprises at twenty-two after his parents mysteriously died in a house fire.”
Her eyes flicked to him, but MJ kept his gaze steady on the glowing screen.
“Rumors say he was the one who set the fire,” MJ continued, “because his parents kept taunting him about his achievements… or lack thereof. After that, the company became a front. Illegal businesses. Human trafficking. Prostitution. And plenty of other things the white-collared mafia would never dirty their hands with.”
Luna’s jaw tightened. She didn’t interrupt.
“Two years into being CEO, he knocked up his secretary and had to marry her for public image. Serene Watson.” MJ’s tone didn’t soften, but his eyes briefly darted to Luna’s face, gauging her reaction.
“Then came their first son — Mark Keifer Watson. But Kaizer was never loyal. Kept having affairs. Beating his wife… in front of their kids.”
Luna’s stomach twisted.
“They had two more sons after that. Mir Keigan Watson. Mike Keiren Watson.”
MJ exhaled slowly before delivering the next blow. “One year after her youngest was born, Kaizer got drunk and killed her. In front of his eldest son.”
Luna’s throat constricted. She didn’t need a picture to imagine a younger Keifer, frozen, powerless.
“After that,” MJ went on, “Keifer took his brothers and moved to their maternal grandparents’ home. Now here’s the twist.”
Luna turned to him fully.
“His grandparents weren’t ordinary people. They were CEOs of one of the biggest marketing companies in the country. But Serene… had a huge falling out with them years before. She left home, cut ties. When her parents died, the company was automatically inherited by her — and when she died, Keifer inherited it. His father never knew.”
MJ’s fingers stilled.
“He’s been trying to manipulate Keifer into handing it over ever since. Keifer never agreed. So Kaizer kidnapped his own son, Keigan. Tortured him for a year. Nobody knows exactly what he did to him. Keigan’s never talked. But the bastard’s still finding ways to hurt them… even with Keifer having the law on his side.”
Luna’s nails dug into her palm.
“And here’s the part that’ll make you hate him even more,” MJ said, his voice dropping low. “Kaizer Watson has raped more girls than we can count under the guise of offering them jobs. Sold many into prostitution abroad. And now he’s looking for support from the other mafias… which is why he plotted to kill you and Uncle Gabriele.”
Silence pressed in around them. Luna exhaled slowly, deliberately, as though steadying her own pulse.
“What are you planning?” MJ asked finally.
Her voice was quiet, but steel-lined. “First… I take him down. Not Shadow. Kaizer Watson. And I’ll reveal every single one of his crimes.”
MJ studied her for a long second, then nodded. He reached into his pocket and slid two small objects across the coffee table.
“This white one’s for the government,” he said. “This black one… is for your personal reference.”
The tiny pendrives sat in her palm, but they felt heavier than steel.
