The classroom emptied one by one, leaving behind the soft hum of ceiling fans and the faint scent of markers on the board. Inside the small changing room, a boy quickly swapped his uniform for a plain white t-shirt and a pair of black shorts. His wristwatch clicked as he adjusted it, tossing his tie into his bag.
Outside the door, his cousin leaned lazily against the wall, scrolling through his phone.
Cousin (looking up): You sure you don't want our driver to pick us up?
Boy 1 (grinning, zipping his bag): Let's walk. Be a regular student after tuition, not the spoiled kids from rich families — at least for today.
Cousin (chuckling): You and your drama.
One had a pair of sports shoes tucked inside his backpack, ready to head to the court after. The other carried a few books, planning to stop by the public library.
They walked out of the Elite Academy together the late evening light painting long shadows across the pavement, their quiet laughter mixing with the city sounds of after academy life.
The two boys stepped out of the building, chatting lightly as they headed toward the gate.
Boy 1 (suddenly spotting someone): Jihyo! Tomorrow buy me that jelly you brought last week!
Jihyo (crossing her arms): Yaaaa give me money first! Don't just order!
Boy 1 (laughing): Yahhh, the richest girl in this city is asking me for money?
Jihyo (teasing back): And the richest boy in this country is asking for jelly without money?
They all burst out laughing, their voices echoing in the soft afternoon air. Just then, a black car pulled up to the curb Jihyo's driver stepping out and opening the door for her.
Jihyo (waving): See you both tomorrow TWO JEONG !!
Boy 1(act cool): Jeongyeon sounds nice right
Cousin(adjust his glasses): I think Jeonghan is much better
She climbed into the car, the tinted window rolling up as it drove away, leaving the two boys still smiling at the sidewalk.
___ The sun dips low across the beach. Two middle school boys walk along the quiet path, bags slung lazily on their shoulders.
Jeonghan: You sure you don't want to study for the test tomorrow?
Jeongyeon: (stretching his arms) I already studied during lunch. I'm going to the court later. Need to beat Mingyu this time.
Jeonghan: (rolling his eyes) You said that last week too.
Jeongyeon: (grinning) Yeah, and I lost. But today I'll win.
Jeonghan: Why only me thinking about grades?
