Chasing Ones Own Tail

Sonic is finishing up a chili-dog as he stands near the train tracks.

"Sonic!" Tails runs up to him, holding an energy rifle in his hand.

"Oh-" Sonic swallows the chili-dog in one go and wipes his mouth. "Watcha got there, Tails?"

"It's some sort of an energy rifle!" Tails says in excitement. "I've never seen anything so cool before! It's so intricately made and the power source inside is so efficiently made!"

Sonic laughs. "Well, it must be amazing if its got you so worked up."

Tails flips the rifle into the air and catches it. "I want to meet whoever made this, it doesn't feel like an Eggman design, not enough red in its color scheme."

Suddenly a voice is heard above them as a bird mobian calls out to them. "The train is coming! The train is coming!"

Sonic stretches out his legs. "Well, Tails. Looks like my rides coming."

Tails nods as he sets the rifle on his back. "Click and I will meet up with you, once I get the plane fixed."

Sonic gives him a thumbs up as a large black and red train comes into view above them. "See you on the other side!"

Sonic jumps up onto the train as it passes, and Tails waves to him.

"Good luck, Sonic!"

Click appears beside Tails and waves as well. "Good lick, Mr. Sonic!"

Sonic waves down to them as the train speeds past the captured Fortress. Sonic then looks ahead as wind whips around him.

"Now, let's we're this takes us, maybe it'll drag out Eggman." Sonic chuckles.

Somewhere nearby, Metal enters a massive cave of sorts. Unknown writings line the walls, and drawings of Wolves howling up to the moon line the walls.

He stops midway into the cave, as the ground begins to shake and tremble. Metal nods to himself as he rubs his metal nose, before the engine on his chest starts to spin up.

Metal then speeds out of the cave as the ground where he was standing starts to break apart of something travels under it. He spots a train in the distance and his vision zooms in to spot Sonic at the front.

"Hue hue!" Metal speeds off towards the train as something follows him from underground.

Back at the train Sonic stretches his arms out, but slightly jumps as a small panel opens up beside him. Suddenly a small screen comes up and it turns on to reveal Eggman.

"Well, hello Sonic."

"Eggman!" Sonic glares at him, before smirking. "Still hiding after the beating I gave you?"

"Hiding, Ha!" Eggman laughs loudly. "I'm just biding my time until my Master Plan is finished!"

Sonic notices a map behind Eggman with several red dots. Sonic does his best to burn that into his memory, before speaking to Eggman.

"I'm coming for you Eggman, just you wait."

Eggman gives a toothy grin as shadows cover his face, but his glasses shine. "Oh, I do hope so. But first, let's see if you can handle the Endo-Worm."

"The wha?" Sonic raises an eyebrow, but his ear twitches as he hears a jet engine coming towards him. Sonic looks back to see Metal flying straight towards him. "Metal!"

"Oh, don't worry, Sonic." Eggman chuckles. "He's not your target."

Sonic glances at the screen. "What are you-"
