So here's chapter 5! This chapter talks about Zeref's past from his prospective.
--------------------------------------------Zeref's P.O.V
My mother, nashita, was beautiful.
She had short, pink hair and hazel eyes.
She was very kindhearted and liked to talk a lot with everyone around her.She was born a fire dragon slayer, and liked to help people in our village out with their cooking once in a while when the magic their stoves used wore off.
Everyone in our village loved her and everything she did for them. Every time she walked out side the house for food and supplies, she would always have people smiling at her and wanting to talk to her.She read me a bed time story every night about a princess who fell in love with a dragon. Not really a book you'd read to a boy, but nonetheless, I still enjoyed the story. It was odd that the princess would fall in love with such a beast and not find her own prince to marry, but I suppose that's pretty much why I liked the book.
I could also tell the reason why my mom liked the book though. She was a dragon slayer, and in that day and age, they were very rare and most people thought that they were just "freaks without a purpose", as they'd say. Nobody believed that dragons were real, that it was all just some made up fairy tale. And because of that, they didn't know why dragon slayers existed since there were no dragons to slay.
So my mom told me that when my father asked to marry her (after going out with her for a while), she just couldn't believe it and was happy beyond words. She had thought before that no one would be able to fall in love with her because of what she was.
And as she said to me once, "This book reminds me of me and your father, except the parts are of course reversed though." She giggled.
And as the village got to meet with her more after her & my father married, they realized that she wasn't just "a freak without a purpose" but more of a kindhearted, close friend.
She would always make me my favorite spicy soup that I liked (I don't remember the name for it though), and took me out for walks and to play with the other kids in the village of which I got along with pretty well.
She was honestly the best mother anyone could ask for.
------------
My father, John, was kind too, but also very stressed out at times. He wasn't afraid to yell at me either when he needed to.
But he did work very hard everyday back then. He was a carpenter at a shop just a few miles away from the house, and I guess the work was always very tiring for him there. He helped provide for just the three of us...that is until the unpredictable news that my mom was pregnant came along.
-------------
I was more excited than ever before to finally have a sibling. I couldn't wait any longer for my little brother to be born, the anticipation was killing me!
So when I heard that he had finally been born, I immediately asked my dad if I could hold him and talk to him.
When he said yes, I dashed into the room that my mom was in with the baby (she gave birth at home in her bedroom with the public nurse helping her), and I almost tried grabbing him out of her hands. She pulled him more towards her chest and pouted at me in a very silly kind of way. "I've barley gotten to hold him myself, little man, so don't go snatching him from me just yet." She smiled.
I didn't want to give up tho, I wanted a closer look at him and to meet him so badly. I gave her a pleading look with a fake pouty face. She then giggled after seeing it and said, "Alright, I guess you can hold him for now. But not too long ok? Your father still hasn't had a chance to hold him yet either."
She handed him gently to me. I held him close to me and nodded with a smile and walked slowly out of the room with him in my hands. I looked over him and realized he had mom's pink hair (except it was spiky) and her hazel eyes. And that's when it finally hit me, the question that still hadn't been answered yet all that time.
What was his name?
I walked back into my mother's room with the baby still in my hands, and went right next to the side of her bed. I leaned down with the baby closer to her and asked, "Mom, what did you name him?"
She gave me a confused look. Then realization came upon her face (she really was dense sometimes). She didn't respond but I already knew she didn't have a name for him yet.
A sudden warm summer breeze blew through the window. My mother looked out the window with a small smile and a peaceful look on her features. I knew summer was her favorite time of the year. She loved the sights, weather and happiness that summer always brought to everyone.
Then she turned back to me with a smile plastered on her face. "I think I'll call him Natsu. It suits him and the day he was born, don't you think?"
Natsu Dragneel|| born: June 21st
