The Secret of Tohru Sohma

   "Kyo... Kyo...."

"Tori!" He holds me up as I puke right next to him. A mixture of vomit and blood fills my nose.

"Uuugghh...."

"Tori, did he do this to you!?"

"Kyo... Kyo.... You have to tell me...."

Poof.

My body was too weak to stay in human form. I roll and try to get on all fours, but my joints give in and I end up falling on my side.

"Don't worry, baby, I got you." He scoops me up and holds me. I lay across his arms, a glint of happiness through the pain. Baby. He called me his baby. I don't care if it was on accident or on purpose, if he meant it or not. It makes me so happy. I begin to purr at the thought.

"Heh, so weak you can't stay in human form, but you can purr. You always seem to amazing me, Tohru Sohma."

I purr louder. Hearing him say my name while the cold night wind pushes against me as he runs is to die for. I get comfortable, and soon I'm asleep.

"Shigure!"

I'm startled awake. The wind has stopped, and I look around to find myself home.

"Shigure!!" Kyo calls frantically and angry that Shigure didn't come at first call.

Shigure walks into the front room from his office, "Yes, what is i- Ah! Tori!!"

He runs over to us, his hands moving quickly over me, not knowing what to do.

"Tori, what's wrong? Why is she in this form??" He looks up at Kyo, and I close my eyes. The pain is starting to come back, and so are the memories.

Allow you to love Kyo.... If you tell him first... never see each other. Ever. Again.... I wonder.... When those beads fall off your wrist....

I begin to shift around, trying to shake the memories, his voice repeating the words I never want to hear ever again. Every move I make creates a new pain and I give a cat's yowl in protest.

"Tori!?" Kyo and Shigure say together. I open my eyes and find them staring at me again.

"So... much... pain...."

"I'll call Hatori!" Shigure rushes off.

"Kyo...."

"I got you, honey, don't worry." I smile a bit. He slipped up again. I don't know if he's saying it to comfort me or by accident, but it still takes some of the pain away. "Here, let's take you up to our room."

He starts up the stairs. I can barely form words, I'm so out of it, "Under... covers... transform... back...."

He nods once, "Right."

I close my eyes, letting the pain take over. This pain, it's different then all the other times. It's like Akito was stronger, the strongest he's ever been. Maybe he just had a bad day and was extremely offended. Maybe his recovery from always being sick has been well and he was disgusted about the idea of Kyo being loved by anyone. Who knows, but this time, he attacked me from all angles.

"Alright, here, I'll put you in my bed. I know I have the comfier one between the two of us. Even though, I doubt you can hardly call blankets and a pillow on the floor a bed."

"Thank... you...."

"Actually, wait. Shigure!"

Shigure comes running up. "I just got off the phone, what is it??"
