Away From Home

Dawn's POV

"What?" Dave asked. "I'm pregnant." I explained. "I don't see a ring." He said. "I don't understand why everyone thinks I need to be married to be pregnant." I said. "How would your father feel?" Dave asked. "I don't know, he's on a mission." I said. Dave was confused. "About 27 years ago Jedi Master Henry Banners vanished into thin air, then 27 years later Dawn appeared out of no where. Soon she found her father, apparently after Henry died he was transported back to his original world." Obi Wan said. "This all sounds fake." Dave said. "Was my force fake?" I asked. Dave shook his head.

"How did mother react to me disappearing?" I asked. "We all thought you killed yourself." Dave said. "I knew it." I said. "Dawn has been doing so much better." Obi Wan said. "I had escaped the hell I called life. I had a new one, with new people. Who actually care about me." I said. "Your mother loves you." Dave said. "No she doesn't, you've seen the way she treats me." I said. "I admit she hasn't been the nicest to you, but she's been upset about your disappearance." He said. "What for a day?" I asked. Dave lowered his gaze to the ground. "That's what I thought." I said.

I heard a car pull up into the driveway. "It's her." I said and balled up my fists. "She's going to pay." I said. Obi Wan gently grabbed my face with both of his hands. "Revenge is not the Jedi way." He said searching my eyes. "You're right." I sighed. I pecked his lips and we sat down on the couch. My mother entered the house. "Hello, Mother." I said. She looked over at me with shock. "I thought you were dead." She said. "Nope, quite the opposite, I was living my dream." I said. "I have big news. You're going to be a grandma." I said. "I don't look like one." She said. "You don't have to look like a grandma to be a grandma. And, is that a grey hair I see?" I asked pointing to her head. "Haha, very funny." She said sarcastically.

"I'll go call Blake." Dave said. Blake. "Who's Blake?" Obi Wan asked. "My boyfriend. Or used to be, before I met you." I said. I was nervous to see him. "Well I have something to ask you." Obi Wan said. "What is it?" I asked. "Dawn Banners." Obi Wan said and got down on one knee. "Will you make me the happiest man in the galaxy, and marry me?" He asked opening up the small velvet box. "Yes!" I shouted and hugged him. He slipped the ring on my finger (on the side). He grabbed my waist and spun me around in a circle. I laughed and hugged him tightly.

There was a knock at the door and Dave answered. "Blake." He said. "What is it you wanted to talk to me about?" Blake asked politely. "There's someone you'll probably want to see." Dave said and opened the door all the way. Blake walked in and stared at me. "Dawn." He breathed. "Hi Blake." I said and waved. He ran towards me and was about to kiss me but I stopped him. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Blake, I'm engaged." I said. "You're cheating on me!?" He shouted. "No, that's not the case." I said. "Just come back to me." He said. "I cant." I said. "Yes you can, we can get married, have kids." He said. "I'm pregnant Blake." I said. "Who's the father?" Blake asked angry. "Obi Wan." I said. "Obi Wan Kenobi doesn't exist." Blake said. "Not this again." Obi Wan sighed. "Prove to me that you're real." Blake said. Obi Wan lifted him off the ground with the Force. "Believe me?" He asked. Blake nodded and Obi Wan set him gently on the ground.

My com began beeping. "Master Dawn Banners here." I said. "Dawn." Padme said. "What is it Padme?" I asked. "Obi Wan is missing." She said. "Anakin is out looking everywhere." She said. "He's right here with me." I said. "What is it Senator Amidala?" Obi Wan asked. "We were worried sick about you!" Padme shouted. "We're just visiting Earth." I said. "And you didn't bring your father?" Anakin asked, apparently he had been standing there. "I wanted Obi Wan to meet my family." I said. "I thought your mother was a bitch." Anakin said. "Anakin! Language." Padme scolded. "We'll come home soon." I said. "You better hurry. The Jedi Council will get suspicious if Obi Wan doesn't show up to the meetings." Anakin said. "Alright." I said.

"When is that vacation again?" I asked turning to Obi Wan. "I promise when I get my vacation we'll have a wedding." He said and hugged me. 'Thank goodness." I said. "Since I skipped that major mission it may take longer." He said. "That's alright. We'll probably go on missions together." I said. "You're not going on any more missions." He said. I sighed. "Then what will I do?" I asked. "Help out in the Archives. Maybe accompany Padme at senate meetings." He said. "Fine." I said.

"May I use the refresher?" He asked. "Yeah, I'll show you where it is." I said and led him up the stairs. "Right here." I said and opened the door for him. "Thank you." He said and shut the door behind him. I walked back down the stairs and plopped myself down in my dad's chair, which was still in the house.

I heard the front door open as I turned on the TV. "Dawn?" I heard someone say. I looked up. "Chuck." I said and narrowed my eyes. "You still got that locket I see." He said and pulled it off my neck. "Give it back." I said. "What are you going to do? Use the Force?" He asked mocking me. "That's exactly what I'll do." I said. "I'm so scared." He said. I gripped his throat and lifted him. "I'm about done with your shit." I said. "Let him go Dawn." Obi Wan said walking down the stairs. "I hate him!" I shouted. Dave and my mother ran into the room. "He deserves to die!" I shouted squeezing his throat tighter. "Let him go Dawn. Now." Obi Wan said. I dropped Chuck and he hit the ground. "Who the fuck are you!? Carrie White!?" Chuck shouted. "Hand over the locket." I said standing over him. "H-here." He said and handed my locket to me with shaky hands.

"Obi, I really want to go home now." I said. "Okay we can. I'll fly." He said and kissed my cheek. Obi Wan went to start the ship. "You're leaving?" Dave asked. I nodded. "This is your home." Blake said. "Coruscant is my home now." I said. Obi Wan entered the room. "We better hurry before Anakin begins complaining." Obi Wan said. "Good idea." I said. "Bye. Make sure to tell everyone I didn't die." I said and smiled. I climbed into the Y-Wing and Obi Wan drove off.
