Taylor's POV

I woke up the next morning to a warm feeling on my lips. Before even opening my eyes, I reached for the figure in front of me and lightly ran my fingers through it's soft hair, hair that I soon recognized. I opened my eyes to exactly who I thought that hair belonged to - Adam.

"Good morning." he said, smiling with that wonderful, radiating smile of his.

"Well wasn't that an interesting way to wake me up."

"Yeah, I figured it'd be a little more gentle than violently shaking you awake."

"Well I think you're right about that."

"Good. Did you get enough sleep? You crashed pretty hard last night."

"Yeah, I did, thanks, but why exactly did you wake me up then if that's a concern?"

"Taylor, don't you remember what day it is today?"

"Dude, I just woke up, I'm still trying to understand the world and crap." I said, smiling. He sat up slightly on one elbow and laughed.

"It's Christmas Eve." he said. To his slight surprise, I shot up at the sound of those words, my eyes becoming wide, leaving no trace of the fatigue they once harbored two seconds ago, my vision turning yellow in an instant.

"Christmas Eve?! Why didn't you tell me?! What time is it?!" I looked over at the clock. "Oh my gosh it's already 8am! There's so much to do!"

I heard him laugh as I jumped out of bed, grabbed my clothes, and jumped into the shower. He could laugh all he wanted, but I was too excited to care. I got myself together as fast as I possibly could. I was about to rush out of the bathroom door when I stopped myself, taking my hand slowly off the handle. I turned to the mirror and took a deep breath. I wore a dark red dress with a flowing skirt that came down just above my knees and black tights with black combat boots. Red lipstick, of course, and red jewel earrings. I ran my hands over my hair to smooth it out before I opened the bathroom door.

There, I was met with Adam staring at me, leaning against the tall dresser pressed up against the wall. He wore a dark red button up shirt with a black tie and black pants, his sleeved rolled halfway up to his arms in cuffs.

"Wow." he said after a moment of silence.

"Wow to you too," I said, stepping towards him.

"You know, I would totally kiss you right now if it wouldn't mess up your lipstick."

"Eh, screw the lipstick, I'll fix it," I said, leaning up to kiss him.

When we came downstairs, our fingers laced together, Adam turned to me and asked, "How come no one else is up?"

"Because it's 8:30 and I'm the only family member who's ever crazy enough to be up yet on Christmas Eve. Breakfast?" she said, leading me into the kitchen and putting two pieces of bread into the toaster.

"I'd make something a little nicer but we've got a busy schedule ahead of us today."

"Oh, what's on the schedule?" I said, starting to lean in to kiss her before she replied "Well first we need to finish wrapping up the presents in the living room. My gifts are already done because my family knows I will wrap all the presents before I wake up, so they wrap them ahead of time so I never see them. Then we need to clean up the house a little bit, put some things away, dust, sweep, vacuum, etc. After that we need to put up a few more little decorations outside, then put the turkey in the oven, and fill up everyone's stockings and light the fireplace. Then this afternoon we'll need to start the rest of dinner and bake cookies this evening for "Santa" with my cousin that's coming over to stay the night with my Aunt. Oh! Speaking of which, we may need to go prepare the other guest room if my parents haven't already."

"Wow." he said with an expression that looked like he thought I was a bit crazy, which in all honesty, I kind of was.

"I take Christmas seriously." I said, heading into the dining room to start wrapping up the presents that were always there waiting for me on the table. However, this time they weren't there.

"That's strange..." I said, looking around for the gifts. "Where are all the- oh." I said as I stepped into the living room and found all of the presents already wrapped and underneath the tree. "Oh. Ok, well, I guess they must've wrapped them already this year. How nice of them. Ok, well we still need to clean." I said, turning around and realizing that they had already tidied up the place as well. "Stockings! We need to get out the stockings!" The stockings were already hung up on the mantle, completely full. I looked outside: all the decorations were hung up already. I rushed up to the other guest bedroom: completely cleaned and ready.

"Well, then. I guess I got up early for nothing."

"Maybe not for nothing..." He said, and I turned around and smiled as I realized what he meant.

"Really? So what I'm hearing is that you have some plans?" I said as I slid my arms over his shoulders.

"I may have had something in mind..." he said, grabbing my arm and pulling me into our room, shutting the door behind us carefully as to not wake anyone. He turned to me once again and picked me up, spinning me around and onto the bed.

"I love it when you do that."

"That, my lady, is what I'm here for. However, this time I will not be joining you in sitting down, because you will not be sitting for very long." He said, pulling out his phone and closing the curtains. He turned on the lamp by the bed and pressed a button on his phone, which began playing "Baby It's Cold Outside" as he put it on the tall dresser.

"I love this song." I said.

"Wonderful! In that case, would you care to dance with me?" he said, holding out his hand.

"I would love to." I said, accepting his hand as he pulled me up surprisingly quickly, grabbing my waist as I placed my other hand on his shoulder and smiled up at him.

"Do you know how to Waltz?" he said.

"I can't say I do. Are we going to be that formal?"

"Well I thought I'd give it a go. Fortunately for you, I do know how to Waltz. However, you will have to let me know how good of a teacher I am."

"I can certainly do that."

"Here, put your right foot forward as I put my left foot back." I did as he said.

"Now step with your other foot, then your right again, and we're gonna turn." I stumbled a bit and fell slightly into him. He steadied my body.

"Sorry" I said laughing

"That's quite alright. Just remember 'front-2-3, back-2-3.' follow my feet." I did as he said again, looking down at his feet, and this time, I actually got it.

"Well look at that, you're a natural." he said. "Now let's see if we can do a spin!" he said, letting go of my waist and raising my arm in the air as I spun around. He then pulled me back in and to my surprise, he dipped me down as I clung on to his neck. We came back up in a fit of giggles as I said to him,

"Where'd you learn how to be such a romantic?" I asked.

"Well, I guess you could say I just had some really good motivation."
