The buzzing of the radio wakes you, its loud cries echoing though your tiny head.
You groan.
Why...
Your brain asks, then you hear your mother. Her loud foot steps cheaking every step as she climbs up the stairs that lead to your door.
Hide!
You tell yourself, lifting the warm blanket over you head thinking it to be the most cunning hidding place.
"Oh....Dana had a dolly who was sick sick sick ...." Mommy always sang the morning songs, they made her smile like song birds singing to the sun each morning.
"Wakey wakey sleepy head!" Mommy yelled as she ripped the once warm blanket away releasing a burst of brisk stale air over Dana.
Dana let out a cry "MOM!!!" She yelled "No fair!"
But Mommy only giggled, "Its your first day of school silly time for you to go see the world baby girl" Dana sat strait up her eyes glowing...
Today's the day...
She didnt know what school was but she was to excited to hold it. With one fast move she jumped from the tall bed. Landing on the slanted wood floor. Then braking off into a mad dash racing down the stairs to the shift kitchen.
"Slow down silly you have time baby girl" Mommy said again her soft voice never once changing its loving tone. "Your all packed and the buss should be here in about 10 minutes just enough time to get you to Gamas'"
Dana's head bounced up and down franticly.
Let's goooo!!!!
Dana thought as she hooked her back pack over her shoulders, slid on her boots and ran out the door. Her mother not far behind.
No more than 5 minutes later Dana and mommy arrived at Gama's. Sure enough Gama was waiting there for them. A fresh bright red apple in her hand just for Dana. "Tank' oo' Gama" Dana said a bright smile on her face.
Pictures were taken and short stories of schools and busses and children were told and in no more than a few moments mommy spotted the buss on the hill coming their way fast.
Scared...
Dana thought...
What if I never see mommy again..
"Mommy...I'm scared" the words so soft she could almost not hear her own daughter. But Dana's face said all. Mommy grabbed Dana's hands squeezing tight. "Your alright Dana. Don't be frightened."
No no no...mommy come with me...
Dana rammed into mommy her tiny arms clinging tightly to Mommy's shirt. Mommy just held her baby. The buss now stopping at the edge of the drive way, with a loud screech.
"Mommy...scared..." Dana whispered into her Mommy's belly. "I know baby. Listen. I will be right here when you come home. You'll make friends that you'll spend the rest of your life with and you'll be amazing you wana know why I know this..." Mommy said her voice strong and sure. Dana nodded as mommy picked her up and walked her to the buss doors, placing her down on the landing.
"Because you MY baby girl and your special like no other. I love you Dana now go have fun"
Mommy hugged Dana one last time before kissing her for head and backing away. Waving as she did
Though Dana had heard her mommy she still couldn't help but cry. The tears rolling down her cheeks.
She thought she was alone on a stranger buss... Until she felt a hand on her shoulder. "Is oo' o'tay?" a little girls voice asked.
Dana turned a little girl with a blond bobbed hair cut looked down at her. The girls blue eyes looking like ocean marbles. "I'm ok..my name Dana." Dana said. Putting on her happyest smile. The little girl grind "My name Gwace'"...----sorry this is a super random story and likely not that great but that's ok right :P I'm just working on getting stuff off my chest, and putting memories and just stories on here make me feel a little lighter, please don't judge me to harshly :) thanks.
