he met her when she was nothing but
a scared, scrawny runaway nurturing
a torn ankle and a bleeding heart
the plot thickens when he made her
the axis to the rotation of his happiness
a checkmate in her chess board(he is always a sucker for the young renegade)
he was left with upturned, empty palms
when the girl took off running to the stars
with his heart inside her faded blue pockets
left with nothing but an arrow stuck to his back
the sacks of gold remained untouched
not a single sign of her hasty departure
visible in the growing light of dawnwhat a foolish, heartsick, young boy
to fall for people meant for the wilderness
the devastation of heartache bleeds
over the forest floor, seeping into moss
birthing a garden of orchids for his regrets(he was never the same after that)
