Child {Phan AU}

Phil's POV

*6 years later (both kids are 6)*

I was going on a date with Dan and it was our six year anniversary. I was taking him to a fancy restaurant with Kacey and Emma and I had a plan.

I was going to propose to him.

We moved in together almost 3 years ago and both kids know about our relationship.

We decided to tell them when they were younger and they seemed pretty alright with it.

"Dan, are you almost ready?" I asked, facing the bathroom door.

"Almost, Emma decided to help me." Dan answered

"That's fine," I smiled and fixed Kacey's dress. She was wearing a pastel pink dress, she picked it out. I brushed her hair, trying not to hurt her. She complained a little but I managed to get her hair looking nice.

We sat on the sofa and waited for a few minutes before they came out of the bathroom. Dan was wearing a suit with a black tie and I had the same suit but I had a blue tie. Emma was reluctantly wearing a light blue dress and she had her arms folded, obviously not very happy. Dan ran his fingers through her hair because it was easy enough to do Emma's hair because it was short.

We drove to the restaurant and I had the box in my pocket, I felt the pocket and made sure it was in there. We got out of the car and Dan mumbled "Phil, this place is expensive so you better not be paying for all of it." I shrugged in reply and we walked inside.

Each table had a white table cloth and a navy one underneath with red chairs surrounding each table. There was a chandelier hanging from the ceiling and there was expensive looking paintings on the walls.

A waiter showed us to our table and we sat down. Bry and Candice were at a table nearby and it was the same story for Emma and Luke. I turned around and saw the four of them near each other. I smiled at them and they all smiled back. I turned head back and sat opposite Dan and beside Kacey.

We were talking about what we'd eat but I was only thinking about how I'd propose to him.

Dan's POV

I had no clue why he took me here. Phil had always had a hatred deep inside of him about this place. He'd complain that everyone was too posh and fancy and that everything was way too expensive.

I had no clue what to order but Emma and Kacey had already made up their minds, they were getting some sort of pasta.

Phil was looking at the menu, he seemed like he was putting a lot of thought into what he was ordering.

"Wanna share some spaghetti?" I suggested

He nodded and giggled in reply.

We had agreed to only get starters and dessert because it'd be way too expensive if we got all of the courses and for some reason Phil really wanted to get dessert.

A waiter came over, she had dark brown hair that was tied back into a tight bun and she looked like she just wanted to go home and watch tv.

"What would you like to eat?" She asked, sounding extremely bored.

I knew how she felt, work could be really boring.

"We're gonna skip starters," I said "The girls would like that pasta thing on the kids menu and we'll share the spaghetti and meatballs."

She wrote down the order and took our menus "Thank you," she mumbled and walked away.

*Time skip to when they get dessert*

Emma and Kacey were having ice cream and we decided to have chocolate cake.

A waiter came out with two rather large slices of chocolate cake with strawberries and ice cream. The waiter set the plates on the table and walked away before we could thank them.

Phil's POV

We finished the cake and this was it, this was the moment.

I got down on one knee and began "Okay I haven't exactly got a plan so I'm just gonna go for it. Dan, we've been together for 6 years today and they've been the best few years of my life. We've done so many stupid things together and I don't think I would want to go back and do them with someone else. I love you so much and I don't know how to say it. I want this relationship to last forever so answer me this: will you marry me?"

I pulled the box out of my pocket and opened it, showing him the ring. He looked at me, eyes wide.

"Yes," Dan answered and everyone in the restaurant started clapping.

I could see Bry, Candice, Luke and Emma all clapping and smiling.

I kissed him softly and we kissed for a few seconds before I gave him the ring.

I would forever remember this night as one of the best nights ever.

Kacey turned to Emma and asked "Does that mean we're sisters now?"

"I guess so," she replied after a few seconds.

Dan and I laughed and looked at each other.
