Chapter 168 - "Freshers..."

Clara's PoV

Packing my room up took me and my Dad a week. My Gran came and helped for a little while, and so eventually we had managed to get the entire room pretty much packed up to go.

My Gran hugged me tight and told me to make sure I call her and visit, then she slipped me a little money to get me started making me hug her even tighter.

My Dad pretended that he wasn't crying but in reality he didn't want to show that he was.

Watching Lilly say goodbye to her Mum and sister was heart breaking, seeing as her sister is a lot younger than her and relies on her.

Lilly's Mum can't drive so we offered to take her seeing as we were going to the same place, but couldn't fit her Mum and sister in the car with all our stuff.

'We can make this place homely though Lil' I smiled once my Dad had left.

'I know. But it's a bit depressing. I thought there would be a little more colour on here. It's like a box this room' she moaned.

'You just own too much crap' I joked.

I don't know what she expected. It's university and we don't exactly pay a lot of money for this place. Plus student accommodation is known for its flaws.

'We can put some posters up, and by the time we've made our beds and added curtains and stuff to our rooms - things will start to look up, I promise' I smiled.

Which they did.

We started with her room, and then we moved to mine and put a few pictures and posters up. Then she left and I put all my stationary out, filled up the wardrobe, put my purple bedsheets on, arranged the pillows and cushions and then arranged my stuffed teddies.

By the time I had done all that - it dos look a little better.

By 5 o clock we had to go to the common room, lounge thing, so that we could meet everyone else that was on our floor, and hear the rules for the year.

There was three guys and one other girl, meaning that there was six of us living here, and we all had our own rooms and shared the bathroom, of which there was two showers and two sinks.

'Get to know each other' our floor manager grinned, and was in second year and was only staying on this floor because it was cheaper. 'Because you'll see a lot of each other living here' she smirked.

She was nice but we didn't see a lot of her after that... We did heat a lot of her though.

'Well. I'm Clara and this is my best mate Lilly' I said motioning between us.

'Jack, Alfie and Oliver' Oliver said - of whom I had to admit was very hot. 'And that's Rose' Jack said. I could tell that they were quite close.

It was then that we all dispersed to get dressed because it is of course freshers week - so it wouldn't be polite to not go out and get drunk with everyone.

It was nice though because everyone stuck together as we headed to the student bar on campus where the vibe was a loud and buzzing one.
