             ~Reader's POV~

Well, that was sudden.I didn't even got a chance to introduce myself. I'm (y/n), more known as the Hunter.
I was born in a small town 20 years ago. My parents gave me a name (y/n) but... When I got older, dad told me that I must learn swordsmanship. I was confused and sad when mother said that I'll be away for a long time. I didn't want to go but eventually I had to. So I whispered my goodbyes and left.

The Academy of Fightcraft welcomed me warmer than I thought. But it was just a mask. I was given a new name and I was told that I must forget everything I knew before. So I did. I forgot my real name, my habits, my townspeople and even the names of my parents. My hard work had dulled them out of my mind and it hurt. A lot. But I was still able to remember my mother's warm smile and dad's strong hands. Songs that mother used to hum were constantly ringing in my ears.

And then I graduated. I finished the Academy and I was free to go. But I forgot my way home and even the name of my town. All I was able to do was fighting. But my academic clothing was too thick for that that too.

I remember I found myself in a bed. When I looked around I didn't recognized anything, except my sword, shield and clothes. I was more than confused when a woman walked in and smiled brightly. I tried to sit up, but my right shoulder just above breast was bubbling with pain. ''Don't move, darling'' woman said. ''You are injured and poisoned. That fight near Emerald Forest (a/n: so creative!) drained all of your energy.'' I looked around and yelped in pain. ''But how did I got here?'' ''Me and my husband found you on our way back home. You were laying in a middle of a circle of corpses. We noticed the sword you were still clutching and came to conclusion that you are a hunter. But then my husband pointed to your shoulder and what we saw was terrifying. It was practically rotting away right in front of our eyes. We brought you here with hopes of you getting better. Right now I came to change your bandages. Can you... take them off yourself?'' I noded and carefully began unwrapping tight stripes of soft cloth. When the last one was off I took a look at my injury and stared in shock: a big round hole was gaping open showing my collarbone and everything else inside. I was unable to resist the urge to touch that exposed bone. After doing so I fainted. I woke up again to find out that my bandages were cut to show off my hole which was no longer there. I looked around and noticed a shadow jumping out the window. I crawled out of bed as fast as possible and hurried to the window but saw nothing.

Few months have passed and I almost forgot about that nightly incident. The only reminder was small crimson dot on my shoulder. My hosts, Naeela and Amon, were very kind to me. They taught me all the other things I forgot, like gardening and wound healing. In exchange I showed them how to defend themselves with basic tools.

Despite all of that, something felt odd. I felt strange force whispering ''Come... Come to the fields...''. And one day I did it. I sneaked out at night and began walking. Fields weren't far away and it took me around an hour to get there. I stood in the middle of a flowery field and looked around. Two red glowing dots appeared next to me and deep, husky voice purred:
-I see my spell worked perfectly...
I quickly turned around and spotted a boy around my age grinning at me. His seemingly perfect face was framed by strands of pure white hair and I couldn't look away. He snickered and got closer. Instinctively I drew my sword and pointed it at him.
-What do you mean by saying 'spell worked perfectly'?
   His grin stretched even more.
-My my, why so violent? I was talking about that spell that healed your hole. By the time I got to you it was already displaying your ribcage. Simple medicine was helpless at that point. So, I casted my simple spell and healed it but part of my darker powers was transfered into your body. That's why you have that spot on your shoulder.
With that said he turned around and was about to leave. Then something snapped in me - I charged towards him with my sword still in my hands. That snap was temporarily though: I soon 'woke up'. And what I saw wasn't good: my sword was stabbed diagonally from his stomach to chest. Dark blood was slowly dripping from the tip of sword and corner of his mouth. Despite that he smiled and mumbled:
-You are a brave Hunter, attacking Shadow like that. But that's what I like in you.
Without saying anything else he backed away and disappeared. That's when I fainted.

When I woke up again my mind was in utter mess: everything was scattered and messed up. That's when nearby I noticed something shiny. It was a heavy golden pendant with ruby in it. A voice in my head hissed:
-Get it to that boy, it might be his. Maybe you'll even get reward.
With a sigh I stood up and began my trip to find the owner of that pendant.

Finally it's here! Chapter 2! Took me longer than I expected, plus the ending is quite shitty... Sorry T^T But I hope you like it and if you have any questions write them below, I'll answer them :o)
