Question:
I have nyctophobia... Any solution?
Nyctophobia is the fear of the dark. This could cause many people to have problems within their mind convincing themselves that something is going to happen. It's a constant state of apprehension.
There are, however, lots of solutions to this. And for a lot of these, it's quite simple!
- Yoga; this remedy will help you calm your breathing and focus on relaxing your mind and muscles. Results are proven to work!!
- Keep a night light on; this will help you feel like safety is with you. Having a light on usually tricks your psychology, you are able to believe something that is actually not there, providing you comfort.
- Before going to sleep, either talk to someone or call them up; talking to someone face to face or through the phone will help you feel safer and rather comfortable.
- Don't watch too much TV; don't spend too much screen time which could cause you to have illusions. Especially if they are mysterious series, thriller movies or even horror movies.
- Remind yourself you are safe and alright; it's a way of reassuring yourself. Don't think you are insecure. If you feel like you aren't safe, always check your front door, balcony, etc. to see if anything is left open.
Thats all for now folks!
